[TUTORIAL] Working With Hamachi
Working with Hamachi
With the new Gzp Lan Partys in effect soon, its time to teach everyone how exactly to use Hamachi.
What is it?
Hamachi emulates a lan, this makes it easier for all of us to connect to each other, just by looking under lan games in any time of game we can see hows hosting a game.
Hamachi can only hold 32 People, Explain more?
Yes Hamachi can only hold 32 per network. Thats why were using the hub and leaf system. A Little Explanation Below.
1 HUB
X LEAFS
32 PLAYERS EACH, EACH LEAF
So, if The Leafs connect to the hub, the players on everyones network will see the games. But only the games hosted by the Hub or the leaf(s).
See below picture for a more explanitory Picture.

So, I will make a thread with the Leafs and who hosts them, then users can connect to the leaf, and we can all play together, and its that simple.
If one leaf is full, attempt to the connect to the other, if there all full we'll work on getting another leaf, its not hard and people can do it easy.
Joining a Network
For privacy purposes, I will not use the Gzp Leaf network as an example, instead a random network, do not attempt to connect.
In the Hamachi Main Interface
In the bottom there should be 3 Buttons.
- Power Off
- Create or Join
- Configure Hamachi
Click on the Second button (Create or Join)
A new window will pop up, it will ask you for a Network name and password. Everything is CASE SENSITIVE! (Toast is not the same as toast)
Now for those hosting leafs, fill in the information to my network.
If you are a player your going to fill in one of the leaf networks that we will post in the general section.
Now your all done, you should see a list of players/leafs under the network name!
Creating a Network/Leaf
Now, each leaf is connected to the hub, yes, so they need to make there own seperate channel for players to connect to.
Go Back to "Create or Join" Follow the steps to create a network.
Once it is up and running you should see the network, but no one in it, well, thats cause you need to invite people, send out your network name and password, and then they can connect.
Now those players in your leaf will see the games hosted by any others.
Side Notes:
Leafs will be hosting games, each one of us will host a seperate game.
If you want to host a leaf, and your a good known member, Then stop by the IRC, you MUST Be in the IRC 24/7 in the channel #VLAN, only leafs and admins will be connected to that channel.
Players will join a seperate Channel when its up.
Qustions and comments are allowed.
