Okay, so i start it up. then open to the COD4 Directory and hit the iw3mp file thing. After that it opens up cod4. but after that cod4 just closes down again. It doesn't work or anything. If i'm doing anything wrong plz help.

Yes then your computer is not good enough.
Put your system settings for cod4 some lower!
