Dear Hackers, I am conducting a survey to find out more about the online game hacking (specifically the MMORPG) community and hackers so as to provide data for a school project research about hacking. I would greatly appreciate it if you take your time to answer the following questions. You may choose more than one answer for questions 1 - 4. Highlight or underline the options which you agree with. For Questions 5 – 6, it is enough to just fill in your general knowledge of the questions asked. For the challenge. it was not easy to bypass hack protection. Once that was bypassed the fun began

Only difficulty was nprotect, which had to be bypassed.

What I did was not illegal. If someone stole money or hacked into a softnyx database then yes, that is illegal.

Also because I'm a reverser and like to see how things work and how I can... "improve" them.

Too many to list... you've provided some examples
- Difficulty in finding the various variables/values
- Being blocked by the game’s protection system (e.g. nProtect GameGuard)
- Being disconnected easily
- Being discovered by other players or the GM

It is not unless you are hacking other's accounts or are profitting monetarily from it; I always believe in the fact that my computer is mine and I can do whatever I want with it.

To learn. Simple as that. I try to remain as non-malicious as possible, but sometimes you have to destroy something to learn how it works.

4) What are the problems you encounter while hacking?
Not sure i would concider them problems. I would probably go with the term "Challenges". I"ve encountered protection such as nProtect and warcrafts address comparisons. As well as figuring out different kinds of hacks to use and try to.... think far enough out of the box.

5) Do you think hacking in mass multiplayer online games is illegal? Why or why not?
Yes, without doubt. When you accept the licence of the game you agree to not hack it. I agree with others though in saying that if its on my computer, i have the right to manipulate and change it.
