It's not risky, just look at the tutorials from youtube./ depending on your xboxs drive, its even easier.

you can sytem link them for fun or just put one away untill one breaks then use that one

Use one to flash your drive and play pirated games on, and use the other to play your legit games on xbox live. You could also flash both and use one for easily ripping games and one for playing the copies.
