How to counter Butcher?

ive played against him and always end up dying
always when i almost killed one of his teammates he hooks and knocks me off

Against Pudge there are several things you need to remember:

He is slow = even with threads he moves slower than MOST and I mean just MOST heroes
He's tough = his high HP and built-in spell resistance makes him formidable
He grows = Flesh Heap makes him add strength for every creep/hero pawned
The Hook! = Nver underestimate the dreaded meathook

How to counter:
If you're a range hero, continually harass him while watching out for his hook. Though your damaga might be puny, IE Bone Clinkz deals 40+ damage less resistance, you should simply put the pressure on him and keep him from lvling. Also, last hit any of YOUR dying creeps so as not to give him the exp & money.

For my anti-PUDGE build, I usually use Razor or at least any range-agi hero, anti-mage will work but he's too frail to survive ROT and get these:
Treads
Maelstorm/Linken's Sphere
Sange and Yasha
Radiance
2 more items

Midgame to Endgame however, given enough items, it's hard to kill PUDGE because of high HP unless you team up with another heavy hitting hero. I wanted to post the link to the PUDGE the Butcher guide so you yourself could study how to play him effectively and exploit his weaknesses but I lost it >.<

butcher is definitely one of the most dangerous enemies that you can face..If you happen to face a pro,you most probably will lose the game if butcher has good teammates.One accurate hook and there goes one of your own teammates.Whether 4 on 4,5 on 5 or what,you are still a hero down.Its hard to take him down.But no game is a solo one.Try some combo heroes.You dont have to solo butcher yourself.If you happen to solo butcher in a lane,just be play smart and play cowardly.Always make his angle hard to hook you.My combo heroes are usually for 5.84c,I seldom play version 6.But this advice should do.

late game pro pudge is hard to counter , even with 2 stunners if they come he might still kill one and almoast get the other, maybe even kill himself.

if you follow sylv3rblade's guide early game he should be quite easy to kill late game, just keep harassing him over and over he will eventually die :)

I would say, any strong ranged hero with creeps around you for meat hook protection ;)

The creeps would simply die out from ROT

the key is early game, just don't just allow him to be fed. good creep denying and bullying and you will be able to stop him before mid-game. one way to find out his weaknesses is to use him yourself, if you lose a game using pudge find out WHY and apply the same tactics if you discover his weaknesses. you can see people that give accurate descriptions of pudge's weaknesses are people who have used him quite a lot in the past. lol

i love denying creeps, if i get a ranged hero i usually have 2/1 kill/deny's :)

and also once i have enough hp regen that i can safely use rot without harming myslef , then just stay behind your creep wave and rot the enamy creeps, more kills + flesh heap = smecksy smecksy pudge.

like my friend would say, pudge is one fat mother ****er that you cant frekin stop.
