Possible way to kill your allies:
When your allies are doomed
When your allies are have been shadowstriked
Bane: Cast nightmare on your ally
Tiny: Toss your ally
Bloodseeker: Blood Rage your ally

Possible way to suicide:
Pudge: Rot;
Techies: Suicide;
Bane: Fiend's Grip;
Bloodseeker: Blood Rage;
Nerubian Weaver: Time Lapse.

It does work. I've tried it before. It seems to follow from version 5. So, regarding countering doom, it might follow from version 5 as well.
