| PHP God | Re: Two Servers for GzP, seeking feedback I think you should try upgrading the software on the server before getting another server altogether :) |

| PHP God | Re: Two Servers for GzP, seeking feedback Lol, his computer would explode if he tried that ;) I've hosted personaly sites on my home computer from time to time, it really doesn't work as well as it might seem like it would |

| Registered User | Re: Two Servers for GzP, seeking feedback Well, the lag could be caused by one of these: * Realtime compression makes the CPU too busy and each page request is slowed down. * Too little bandwidth to support sending HTML pages to users. * The browser has to load too many images, which slows down the loading of a page and takes up bandwidth. (I block the background images and other miscellaneous stuff to make the pages load faster, although it's not way faster.) |

| Administrator ![]() ![]() | Re: Two Servers for GzP, seeking feedback I run a cable connection, through a proxy all the time now. The proxy(s) I use have a latency of ~100-200ms. The site works fine for me each and every time I access the site. (I must place emphasis on the increased loading time caused by the proxy, even if it is fast) I haven't seen any problems. |

| Registered User ![]() | Re: Two Servers for GzP, seeking feedback Skyline already knows my thoughts on this subject..if you get a server that would in fact help it but my guess, wait a bit see what goes on..the lag has gotten better but at times..its just odd.. |

| Retired Administrator | Re: Two Servers for GzP, seeking feedback Here's the thing. The server speed fluctuates a lot on my Internet connection. Even with 500+ members surfing at the same time, on some days I get a decent connection to it and on others, it lags enormously. I think this is more of a software upgrade than a hardware upgrade IMHO. I approve, however, if you decide to upgrade to a second server. |
