It provides functionality to the email, internet, calculator, and other special buttons on your keyboard. I'm assuming you have an Acer Laptop. It's perfectly harmless. Now, if the process's name was Kernelhook.exe, then it would have been worrying. Edit: Your hard drive...blowing up? Sorry, but that's actually impossible. Just reformat your computer, and watch what websites you go to - Sorry to say it, but many shady websites do have ActiveX controls which install rootkits into your computer.
