I downloaded Wow, installed it.
I downloaded TBC, installed it.
I downloaded the Launcher and installed it.
I patched up to 2.4.2.
I created an account with the GzWow site.
I clicked the link for Realmlist on the download page and was presented with a blank page containing two lines of text in the top left:

set realmlist server.wow.hacksdb.net
set patchlist eu.version.worldofwarcraft.com

I copied that went into my WoW folder, found realmlist.wtf and opened it in notepad. I saved, used the GzWow launcher to load WoW:TBC, and attempted to log in. It said I had entered incorrect information. I exited, checked the realmlist and it now says

set realmlistlogon.gamerzwow.net
set patchlistlogon.gamerzwow.net

I've tried re-logging, editing the realm-list after WoW was loaded, etc.

Am i completely retarded and am missing some mundane detail, or what the ****?

It's an error with the GzWoW Launcher. Change your realmist.wtf then start the game with WoW.exe instead of Launcher.exe.
