Yeah, there are three Guild Wars games:

Prophecies, Factions & Nightfall.

For new players, i would recommend Prophecies, as it has a very useful beginner area (tutorial island basically).

However, the latest game (Nightfall) has a lot of cool new features, such as heroes and riding wurms, so it is up to you.

I did not really like Factions much, but it is great for PvP players (Alliance Battles).

Also the op needs to update his post, theres 2 NEWER profs out (Dervish & Paragon)

Well in terms of beginner friendly Factions and Nightfall are alot more better in terms of tutorials. Prophecies has more skill quests though so throughout the game you'll be unlocking skills that you won't have to purchase from a trainer(especially since that would cost a pretty penny). BTW:How is that the post still says factions isn't out(when even nightfall is) though it's dated 03-12-2006, when all three ARE already out?

factions didnt come out that early...it came out Thursday April 27 lol

well atm every1 is playing nightfall but it depends on what you want to do is to which is the best an explanation

nightfall:you get heroes which you can change yourself and set their skill to suit you and your party members, plus the usual new skills and areas and missions

factions: you get alliance battles which is a fight for the land around you as each side wins the territory changes.

Profecies(known as GuildWars): the original guild wars with the original pieces of the game great for beginners but the story drags on a bit.

CP crash

Guildwars ign: Crash Perfect, Crash Shadow, Demolition strike, hiiiiiii yaaaaaa, hitting the sides, hades destroyer and justice crash.. if any1 wants anything let me know

You can get a trial key from a friend who plays I'm not sure if the official site gives them out though.
