Guild Wars Duping Exploit

Most of you that really play Guild Wars, should know about the duping exploit that was going on. It was started by .. my guild. "Chunky Monkey" as you know showed 1750 Ambraces of Truth to somone and they SSed it and we all got screwed over. Yeah it stinks, its been a while now. I don't know how it got out, but I heard that we weren't the only ones doing it, but we did start it. After I was banned, I even called them in.. lmfao

They said that its going to stay a perm ban because that I was duping etc etc and becuause that you all were the first ones that did it and ya..

Well the day before the bans started I got a tip from a friend saying he found out about dupes? Did you know how to? So right then and there..

I deleted ALL of my ambraces of truth (2000) *No I wasn't stupid as my friend to go and show them to everyone or ANYONE in that case* and 5000 ectos. All in the trash, next morning I wake up and BAM.. My whole guild banned..

Lmfao, it scrwed up the market like crazy, thats why if you were wondering on the days they changed the favor system why ectos and shit dropped SO fast. Even if there were so many people getting them, they dropped a shit load.

But it was fun while it lasted, I had Full FoW on all my characters. Then we all duped some flames of balth and I unlocked every skill/item/rune in the game. It was fun while it lasted though.

**Those of you wondering how to do it.. If you don't already know here goes.**

1. You need 2 computers you have to have 2 computers. (Or atleast I did it with two computers)
2. What you do is first log into computer 1, and go into a mission with a friend (guildie in my case :)).
3. Log in on computer 2 with same account, wait at the character select screen.
4. (Also you have to have an ethernet cable<COMPUTER 1= COMPUTER HOOKED UP WITH ETHERNET>) Unplug the cable on computer 1, try logging in on computer 2. As soon as it says " Connecting " on 2, plug your ethernet back in, and click "reconnect" if that didnt work. (Usually it NEVER worked on the first try, you would have to try atleast 3 times)

5. Now if that didn't work. Click "reconnect" back in on computer 1 ( you should still be in the mission ) Hit "N" and pop your buddy list back up.

Click "reconnect", Type in your username and password, hit CONNECT as SOON as you hit connect you unplug your ethernet cable, then you try to login on computer 2. Once it says CONNECTING plug in the ethernet cable. If that didn't work then there is one more method.

6. The last thing you can do is, just do what I said in number 5 but DONT pull the ethernet cable, hit reconnect on comptuer one after you typed in your username and password, then on computer 2 try to log in.

Usually it worked for me in 3 or less trys.. so ya..

To be honest the dupe exploit will be found out soon as some has obtained the same item twice, think about it every item on there database would have a number like #35364.

lol they fixed it over a week ago. and no you guys werent the first to do it. the first ones that did it was 3 months ago.

His goal isn't to let ppl use it, because ANet fixed it.
His goal is to look "cool" because he's one of the million ppl that know how ppl duped items.

I have tried Packet editing fake DC method and a few similar methods but nothing seems to be working at the moment

It's going to be impossible to happen again. Anet banned the accounts that had most of the duped items, but the ones that scattered and got free we let alone with. Like the day before I got banned, I passed a mini rollie on to a friend that I knew in real. He still plays, he didn't get banned.
There going to make sure it never happens again, it screwed the market up like crazy.

Wow man do you check up on guru or just make things up? I talked with Gaile or w.e her name is. The bans were barly even up to a hundred man. Everyone that used the exploit was banned, and the ones that were, are never going to get their accounts back. _ Quote from Support "Were going to use the bans as an example to what happens when you use bugg exploits, the bans will not be lifted."

So ****ing read up on your shit before you go saying stuff buddy.

Yes it did..

Were you offline or something when it happned? Prices on buying GW Gold with real money went DOWN. Prices on ectos went DOWN. Thats why when they changed the favor system, the prices on the ectos dropped SO dramaticly. And NOT everyone was banned making it so the ambraces/items that weren't supposed to exist now do. Making it one more then there was ever supposed to be in the first place. And ya they did do it over a month ago. Try like the first couple days of August.
