| [Guide] Guide to prevent getting scammed. Getting scammed of a expensive item or lots of cash is often a reason why players quit playing Guild Wars.
So i'm gonna list down a few tips to prevent yourself from getting scammed.
1) Before accepting a trade, ALWAYS re-check 1 or 2 times if the items / amount of money the other player added to the trade panel is the right amount of money or the right item.
2) Often people try to scam people by using an item that looks like another item, in the past a famous scam was that people "said" to sell Sapphires, and actually traded Icy Lodestones. Always re-check the item's name!
3) You got a expensive item but aren't really sure how much it's worth and got yourself a buyer that suggests a price...often they offer a price thats way too low if they suspect you dont know what it's worth.
A good way to find out an item's price is announcing you want to BUY the certain item and ask people what they want for it, that way you'll get an average price on the item and sell it for that price yourself.
4) Someone is selling something you want but waaaaaaaaaaaay too cheap? Do not buy it!
Remember when they duped Armbraces of Truth and sold them for 25K each? Almost everyone who bought one got banned for possessing a duped item. So always pay a reasonable price!
5) Imagine..you're a runner and running some ppl. Often people try to scam you by saying they "forgot" their money and will pay u after the run. In these cases, just map back to town and let them get their money first. People who say to pay after the run leave immediately 9 out of 10 times. Always make sure u get payed before finishing your run! |
