How to sell your items in an effective and efficient way...

Pre-searing item selling

Pre-searing is famous for its expensive market.
Minipets and dyes are famous items to be traded in pre-searing.
These are a few tips how to sell your items in pre-searing in a efficient way.

Tip 1: Use a femalish character (Elementalists or Rangers work best!)
Strange enough people seem to buy things easier from female characters somehow.

Tip 2: Act like you're giving your buyers some discount.
Example: You have a Black dye and want to sell it for 6K.
You're advertising: "WTS > Black Dye || 7K! || Whisp me!"
Yay, a buyer!
After a small talk you're saying something like "Well, this time i'll add some discount and you can have the Dye for 6K."
Buyer thinks you like him/her and quickly buys your Black Dye.

Result: Your buyer thinks you gave him 1K discount while you actually just got the price you wanted. Your buyer will most likely buy things faster from you next time.


Tip 3: Try to find a district where someone sells the same item and look what he asks for it.
Imagine someone sells an item for 7K.
In that case you will advertise your very same item for 6K. People will probably buy it from you for being cheaper.


Tip 4: Sell multiple items!
It's a trick you often see in the major trade towns (Lion's Arch, Droknar's Forge, Kaineng Center and Kamadan)
People sell multiple items and give discount if you buy multiple items.
For example someone sells a Scar Eater and Woe Spreader and will most likely say something like "WTS >> Scar Eater (5K) and Woe Spreader(5K) || Both for 8.5K!"
Players think its smarter to buy them both because of the 1.5K discount. So they will often buy faster.



Searing Selling Tips

Tip 1: Keep in touch with your buyers!
You sold someone a Black Dye earlier and found another one, just whisper him to ask if he needs another black dye.
If your buyer was happy with your last trade, he'll often buys more!

Tip 2: Always sell in the usual Trade Towns!
Famous towns for trades are: Lion's Arch, Droknar's Forge, Kaineng Center and Kamadan. However, if you're selling Ectos (Glob of Ectoplasm) you might want to visit Temple of the Ages.

Tip 3: Let people think you need to get rid of your items and sell them cheap. Something like this will most likely work: "WTS >> Forgotten Sword || 10K || Cheap!!!"
However, do keep the price reasonable...if you're saying something like "WTS >> Scar Eater || 15K! VERY CHEAP!!!" people will most likely whisper you and call u an idiot.

Tip 4: Use your alliance!
People in your alliance usually buy very easilly.
Just say something in Alliance Chat like "Anyone needs a Q9 Storm Bow?" and you'll most likely get a response soon if anyone in alliance needs it and wants to buy.

Tip 5: Mod your items!!
With the addition of Perfect Salvage Kits this is a great way of getting expensive items!
Whenever you find a weapon with a perfect mod (15^50, 20/20, HP+30, Energy+5, Enchantments last 20% longer or such) just salvage them out and dump them in your storage.
Eventually when you get a good req9 weapon or req10.. just pimp it with your salvaged mods and make it more expensive!
Famous combinations are Swords / Axes with 15^50, 20/20 and HP+30 on it. Or of course the "Caster" weapons that are modded with Energy+5 and Enchantments last 20% Longer. Famous weapons to me modded to caster weapons are Zodiac Swords, Colossal Scimitars, Elemental Swords and Chaos Axes.
