| Registered User | A few questions on PVP only characters. So, I have guildwars Factions, only just started playing a few days ago and to be honest, I am already bored. So I was thinking of making a PVP only character, well, I made one but the place where you start off, I'm confused as hell. I'm guessing there are cons to PvP only rather than to have a PvE char, so what are they? Can I get different armours for PvP only? Do I have to grind for gold? Can I still get skill set and can I still combine professions? Can I do ALL types of PvP? Is it worth it if I'm not to interested in PvP? Maybe I should just stick it out and level to 20? Granted, it's only 20 levels but leveling isn't that fast, doing quests is not so bad but I get real bored with the grind, using these hencemen isn't fun either. So please, anything you know would be great for me. |

| Lurker | Re: A few questions on PVP only characters. PvP is good fun, and yes, you can do all of the things you can normally do in PvE (dual classes, ecetera). I was getting a little tired of PvE as well, and let me tell you mate, the PvP is addicting. There's not really a grind, considering all players are level 20 no matter what, and it's easy to customize armor and weapons with little bits to suit your style. If you haven't joined a guild, now is the time to do so, as Random Matches, while fun, can be a little frustrating as you're playing with...well...randomly selected people against other randomly selected people, so it's a little hard to get a good set up for everything. PvP is a lot about experimentation, a bit like chemistry research as in finding what "elements" go together to suit your style. Mix and match your armor, inscriptions, runes, spells, stances, skills, professions until you find something that works well for you. You can play any type of PvP match pretty much out of the box. The Random Arenas are great fun for this, as you never know which map, and which type of PvP game you're going to be served next. Example: I really do enjoy nuking enemies, and yet found myself constrained by the magic points available with my Necromancer. So I tried out a E/N combo and adjusted things until I got a match. Took about two days to figure it out mainly because I was too stubborn to actually start changing things up. It took about two hours of play to get a good mix once I actually started trying different ways. |

| Registered User | Re: A few questions on PVP only characters. Dont forget you have to unlock a lot of skills before you can actively play PVP! The armors are free, you can choose them under PVP equipment. For these is the same warning, you need to unlock upgrades to be able to use them in PVP, which really is advised! |
