| Registered User | Re: For the GW Haters I think I said what I wanted a long time ago, but I would like to answer to someone who took their time to flame me. Aydrian, while you say you're just defending GW, you're insulting practically every WoW fan and holding it against them by calling them a fanboy because they enjoy playing WoW. Now, I'm calling everyone who can't defend their game a fanboy. Look through it more thoroughly, have you seen ANYONE who made a good argument for their game? I don't mind if people like the game, if they're having fun that's great, but if they come in here and act like their game is better then they need to back it up. I call THOSE people the fanboys. Aydrian, not only are you trying to infer some sort of inferioty complex here, but you're also making claims as if your 'argument' is the ultimate one and the only one that matters. Hello!? Do you understand that's what people DO when proving a point? You don't walk up to someone you're debating with and say "Hey, I don't believe enough in my points, but I'm going to try and back them up anyway. Please tell me your points so that you may easily cause me to forget all common sense and reason and agree with you." It's ALL about getting someone to believe what you're saying. If you don't believe what you're saying then what's the point of saying it?! I also have noticed you brought up something about punctuation, which ultimately means you're against the misuse of grammar on the internet, but with you saying that you are ignoring the fact that yours is not perfect either. Ever heard of the quote. Everyone makes mistakes, but when you do it intentionally through every single one of your posts and spell words in ways that are obviously the wrong way to spell it, then it's a habit. I don't do that. I make a mistake here and there but I don't make a habit of going out of my way spelling like an idiot. Before I continue rambling about how you seem to find yourself superior to anyone hwo opposes your argument I don't have a choice but seem superior. Just in case you didn't notice, it was me facing more then one person throughout the entire thing. I have to have confidence in what I'm saying, and to do that I have to believe I'm superior. It's a debating tactic. Believe me when I say that you should not consider yourself to be a prime example of a good GW member as you are making yourself out to be one of the gamers in which you're arguing against when it comes to the WoW community. Oh, so a proper GW player sits back like a good little boy or girl and argues their point in nice and simple ways that allow people to trample all over their points? That's not the kind of person I am. When you argue a point you ARGUE a point. That's how it is. Not everything in which you speak of is true, and you certainly aren't correct all the time, so I'm sure it would benefit everyone, including you and your argument, if you would stop belittling everyone who tried to argue against your main post. ARGUING AGAINST WHAT I WAS POSTING?! Is that what you call that? Posting a point a person has said for the last six posts then saying "GG I win." is not proving a point. I got a PM from a WoW player that said even he got sick of how they were arguing their points. Things like "WoW<Gw" is not arguing. And the few that did post something intelligent, I didn't insult, I just made my points back to destroy their points. Oh, and no one cares that you mod a forum of 1500 people, as I'm sure 1490 of them don't really care that you got in an argument. And for the sake of belitting you like you did to them, I was nomiated, and took the Best Overall Staff Member of a community of (at this moment) I point that out because I think it's cool, nothing more. Now, for a certain member of the opposing side. If you're going to disagree with someone, and most likely setting a huge example for the WoW community as you are the one defending them in this argument, why are you proving him to be correct? By simply stating "gg I winzor lolol" you are proving his false claims to be correct. If there were more people defending WoW, it would be different, but at this time you are practically the only one doing so, so the spotlight is on you. Though you most likely see that, you continue to make a fool of yourself and of the WoW community. If people like you would smarten up, there wouldn't be any more of these ridiculous generalizations. And if I could get someone in here who could argue in favor of WoW with some intelligence backing up their words, then I'd be nicer. But so far that's all I've had. Before you come in here, read over the topic again. I posted long explanations as to why I thought I was right. I went into great detail. I was disappointed over and over when I got some of the dumbest counter-points of all time, which allowed me to easily shoot them down. Get me someone who can argue in favor of WoW and I'll remain civil, but until then I'll do what I do best. |

| Registered User | Re: For the GW Haters Adryian, your problem is that when you "Defend" GuildWars you start to insult World of Warcraft. The part of the post above this one that says "When someoen enjoys a game he's a fanboy" is not true, and in your first post you didnt say fanboy, but PATHETIC WoW FANBOY, that's something else right? |

| Registered User | Re: For the GW Haters The almost definition of a fanboy is someone that hates all other games/systems besides the one they loves. They also act immaturely and defend it as if they were the last man on earth who could. |

| Registered User | Re: For the GW Haters And you are a WoW fanboy. I gave both of them a chance, and I liked Guildwars much better. Not because of the no fee thing. I had no trouble paying for the fee. Because the GuildWars system was better to me. |

| Registered User | My opinion IMO, the WoW community ruins the game. I gave the game a fair chance, I played it for a year. It was fun, until end game. It got boring for me because there was nothing else I could do. And like I said, the wow community ruins it. The way people treat you on WoW just disgusts me. I've never seen an online community that bad, ever. And I've been playing EverQuest since it came out, which is almost 8 years now. I've also played FF11, SWG, and GW and I must say, I enjoyed them all. I never had much of a problem with the community, there would always be someone who would be willing to help you out if you needed it, along with the immature person here and there, but no where near as bad as WoW is. I remember reading people talking about graphics between WoW and GW. To be honest, WoW is to cartoon-ish and doesn't have good graphics at all. On the other hand, GW has amazing graphics for the size of game it is, it is a lot more realistic to me. Another thing I remember reading, about jumping. The way people play WoW, is just retarded. Say you're in a duel, all they do is jump around you. That's the only thing I found annoying about the jumping feature in WoW. All people do is jump jump jump in a duel, what use it is? Is it some sort of god mode or what? It's absolutely pointless. (That's the only thing I'm going to flame, the idiotic jumpers :) ) People have the right to their own opinions. It's called freedom of speech. And those of you flamming Aydrian for his opinions, seriously...grow the **** up. You have a lot of growing up to do. WoW's reputation is RUINED because of people like Exploit. People like him is what drove me away from playing that game, aside from the part of having nothing else to do at end game. (Sorry, flammed again...but I had to. Because it's true.) We don't pay the monthy fee to be flammed by little children. We pay the fee to play and have a good time. *Edit* The only people that like WoW, are the people that play WoW. The people that don't have obviously either quit because of the way they were treated, or have heard bad things about the way the online community of WoW treats other players and wanted nothing to do with it. | Lurker | Re: For the GW Haters I have played Guild wars for over a year now. Anyway, I haven't played WoW (Nor would I like too)... First off: Guild wars has amazing graphics, I mean, stepping outside of Pre-Ascalon was amazing. Eveything has good amount of detail into it and never ceases to suprise me, ranging from a snowy ice cold mountain to the heart of a volcano. It was amazing, the time I wasn't busy fighting or running, I would usually enjoy looking around the areas enviroment. I've seen a picture of WoW graphics and if you say they are the better, I disagree. Secondly, I've played many Online games and I always think having a "Uber Sword of Gods Left Hand magical Destuction of Swordmanship of the bladed blue knight of enchanted elven blood +9 5 socs" that could kill everything would be pretty boring. Slash, kill, pick up, slash, kill, pick up. While on Gw, you have to think what your gonna do, even at level 20 with max armor, a group of 5 level 15 ettins could easily beat you to a pulp if you are not careful. Also PvP is an amazing experience, the tension, the challenge. I mean, I usually love doing PvP and one hitting another player is boring (Like Conquer Online) and irritating. On GW every proffession is stronger and weaker vs another. So there is no "Super" build. Thirdly, I haven't seen many immature people, only immature people in Random Areana but nothing else. the only time you would be called a 'noob' or verbally attacked would be if you set off the timer in Heroes Ascent when everyone wasn't ready or lured a huge mob of level 24 fire imps to your team; thus getting them all killed. I've been in a guild on GW for 3 months now and there have only been 3 immature people (1 of them is just so funny!). Today for the first time in 14 months, I got attacked by a fat 12 year old German for no reason, but most of the GW community is probably ok. OH yeah and: 1) The first area of Prophices is not an Island! It is connected to everywhere else, just you can't explore other places. 2) It does not take 2 hours to find a person to obtain the 'Ressurection Signet' and besides, why not just cough up 50 gold and 1 skill point for it. |

| Registered User | Re: For the GW Haters Aydrian, you owned them on several occations. My favorite was: Quote:
I mean I probably will wind up playing both, but I'm only 16 and I only get $25 a week. (Yes, I'm poor. I live in Bed Stuy. [Brooklyn, NY.]) When I get a real job I'll easily be able to pay the $12 a month just to see that it's not as good as what's free. Dispite the not being able to jump. -_-' So, thank you WoW fanboys for helping me save my money. I greatly appreciate it. | |
