Im not sure if this has been posted before but I searched all day looking for a solution to the following gunbound error:
Language.GetMessage(317) 28
Cannot locate 3D video card or video card drive is out of date.
Please update your video card driver to the latest version and try again.
** I know everyone already updated there drivers for there video cards. However, this wont solve anything.
Ive discovered that most of the people having this issue are running on average laptops and usually are running vista. Fret not, its not your graphics card you should already know this because most of you have nice gfx cards.
The Solution ( work for me after testing several things myself ):
All you have to do is make sure your video card actually is up to date (of course
) make sure you have the latest direct x (anything 8 and up should work though )
Lastly set your laptops screen resolution to 1024 x 786 and make sure your running in 32 bit color mode.
Explination ( My theory ) on why this is happening:
I beleive that gunbound was actually made for resolutions 1024 x 786 and lower, due to the fact gunbound is an older 2D game. Now a days the majority of laptops come with 1440 x 900 resolution...or atleast my last 3 have.
This worked 100% for me and I dont even have that great of a video card just some Low end Intel 4 series chip on a dell studio. Not going to say this will work for you...but give it a shot..play with your resolution...only downside to this is you'll have to change back to your perfered res. when your done playing gunbound...which isnt that big of a deal. Maybe gunbound will fix this when they catch wind of it. Let me no if this helped anyone!
