I am working on a tool that will allow absolute noobs to edit their MRS files, without having to bother with decompiling and recompiling, rehashing, or knowing what the hell all those .XML files are. Hopefully it'll stop all these .MRS 'hacks' being constantly reposted. Or maybe it'll make more of them. I dunno.

It's written in Python, for those interested. [Only registered and activated users can see links. ], and [Only registered and activated users can see links. ].

I started working around 1/26/08 1600 PST, for those who didn't see this thread before the rollback.

Update 1/29/08 0008 PST: DONE! xD Well, no. I only have to add the stuff from zitem.xml. Everything else is finished, however, and you can play with it by [Only registered and activated users can see links. ]. I'm offering no support on this release; support on final build only. ^^ Please post if/when it breaks. RAR is 2991KB, extracting to 6.89MB. If I hadn't compressed the .EXE files, it would have been around 10MB. Yay, upx! =D

Update 1/28/08 1638 PST: It fetches files, it decompiles them, it recompiles them, it sends them back. It'll change values when I get around to copying in all the necessary info from zitem.xml. I also accidentally deleted my system.mrs, so I need to wait until Gunz is online to get it back. Then I'll be able to complete the CRC32 hash updater. 2356 lines. Demo will be out once I fix up the CRC32 hasher.

Update 1/28/08 1531 PST: I now have a working CRC32 hasher. 2337 lines of code. Expect a new demo soon.

Update 1/28/08 0012 PST: Now a full 2322 lines of code, it slices, it dices, it decompiles and recompiles your MRS files! Yeah, it's that awesome. I'm going to bed.

Update 1/27/08 2219 PST: 2300 lines of code. A demo is available [Only registered and activated users can see links. ]. It's large (2.14MB) - the final release will be compressed. I disabled all its functions aside from going through the menus. - rest assured, however, I'm almost done. Just need to C&P five hundred-odd lines of code manually. If I can't find someone to help, this will take a long freaking time. Suggestions for improvement are welcome.

Thats sweet, I know I've spent a fews hours edited my own custom mrs, this will make things alot faster and easier if your going to make a quick edit. can't wait, keep it up bro. thanx

Oh, now THAT is cool. I've been a legitimate player forever, but I might actually have to mess with that on an alternate account. I always found MRS crap fun to do on random chars as a joke, but it was tedious and boring. It is rather nice to have a program where you can simply punch in a few numbers and letters and have it all done for you.

It'll be at least a week before I have the final release done - unless someone wants to help me do a lot of boring copying and pasting.
