I've been researching how nProtect works lately for a project I've been trying to complete and i stubled upon something interesting when I decryptrd GunzUS.ini here is what I found:
notice GAMECRC=2, wonder if maybe thats why some ppl get certin bypasses to work but others can't, I'm not sure seems maybe ppl get diferent versions of this .ini randomly. I tried changing the values and saving, didn't work. I've tried re-encryping after making changes, didn't work. After doing more research I found out GG uses a private key to incrypt files but a public key to decrypt. Well at this point Im kinda stuck, I really need more of these .ini's to decrypt and compare and maybe go from there. If anyone wants to contribute thier .ini please pm with a link to download thiers in .rar or .tar format please. Also I'm open to sugestions here. I really want to figure out how I can bypass GG and keep it that way. Maybe with the above url it gives us we may find a way to; Edit-Redirect-Spoof it into thinking all is well.

Well it's not a hack if thats what u ment....
It is basicly the same thing as a .cfg (configuration file) if you are confused google .ini for more info, then comeback and look at the code, its kinda self explainitory.
GunzUS.ini is part of the Gunz update file (patch.xml), which means it is downloaded as part of any update. You have a good angle, and I would probally go ahead and try (with a non-updating launcher) some of the edits you have made (if you can re-encrypt (?)). I'm not sure if GG would update the config file, but it seems the one stored in '\' and '\GameGuard' are identical.
The USE_GGSCAN would be awesome too ;)
Also, my GunzUS.ini was modifed 28th June 2007 and it's exactly the same as yours is! Not sure if the file is actually used at all - even the revision is the same!
Long rant about understanding:
Don't even bother. Unless you have strong cryptography knowledge, this won't get you anywhere. Luigi Auriemma has written the GunzUS.ini decryption program and runs an active site, and Googling will help get his gguardfile.exe program. But this is a dead end.

I have a few, but instead of doing everything by myself, I want to see some input from other people. I have recently discovered the nature of leechers, which stopped me looking into CRC reversing indepth, but again, I've sent out a few PM's to people, but had no replies. If nobody want to actually help, then why bother? I don't see the point. Also, where are your ideas?

lol Finally mate u catching onto how to hack, u realease ideas leechers steal it lolz happeed 2 times to me =.= so now i focus on the private hacks ask my mates at school what i made 0o and ull see my ideas =)
Also placing hacks with sig locater is good idea thats probs the only thing thats gona persuade me to realese hacks in the future
not 100% sure, actualy im probaly thinking of completly something else,but i think there is a possiblity of downgrading gamegaurd using that code,so maybe if u can succsfully do it u can downgrade gamegaurd and finaly be able to use cheatengine,ollydbg,wpepro and bring gunz hacking to an extreme. but this theory is based on basicly no knowledge other then a cuople of rumors iv heard of. so good luck on furthering ur project.
also ya this theory is based on a rumor so im not sure, maybe itll spark an idea
