editing maps

Hello.
I would hear what program i can edit the maps with?
the maps are MRS files, them can i unpack, but what program can i so use to editing the maps in?

(sorry for my bad English)

I have no experience with map editing, but heres how I think it works:

You can't edit the models but you can edit the textures (on an existing map).

For textures (.dds files)

You will need a plugin for Photoshop
- or -
I think you can rename as a BMP (? but you'd loose the alpha channel because MS Paint is .. well.. ).

Plugins are here - [Only registered and activated users can see links. ]

For models

There are tutorials! And programs - you are all setup to make your own maps from scratch!
