A.1) I would suggest resetting the options to the lowest except for weapon detail, leave weapon detail at normal so you can see rocket trails. Q.2) What is the best game setting to practice Kstyle? A.2) Well, that depends… If you are just trying out a new move, I suggest a solo training game, so you don’t get shot at. After you have your move down, go to low player death matches with a max of only 8 players or so, that way you wont get much lag, and you will be able to constantly practice your Kstyle in a real combat situation. When you get better at Kstyle, I suggest doing team death match type games, as you will often find the more experienced Kstyle users in there. Q.3) What is the fastest way to learn Kstyle? A.3) Using it every game is the fastest way, but it will still take 2 ~ 6 weeks to be competent at Kstyle. Q.4) Why should I do Kstyle instead of just shooting people? A.4) Well, I like Kstyle because it’s fast paced, and you are a tough adversary when you are using Kstyle well. Plus Kstyle gives the game more of a challenge instead of just shooting people. Q.5) How can I do a <move here> with a Kodachi? A.5) The same way you do with a Katana, it will only look different. Q.6) Where can I learn Kstyle? A.6) I have made a nice Kstyle guide with replays at gunzfactor.com in the bounty stockpile section, please go and check it out if you want to pursue Kstyle. ~~~~~~~ PRE-Kstyle ~~~~~~~ 0004 Well, before you get into Kstyle, lets make sure you set up your game right. 1) Change all settings to the lowest except for Weapon effect. Leave weapon effects at normal so you can see rocket trails. 2) You CANT use a dagger and be considered using Kstyle, sorry. 3) Find the moves, practice them, and have fun. ![]() Tips and Pointers of Kstyle 0005 Now that that’s out of the way, lets get to the simple points of Kstyle 1. Avoid stairs as much as possible. If you encounter stairs, look around and find a nice wall to WS/FS right on up, else you are a sitting duck >.< 2. Don’t force yourself to do moves. All this will accomplish is getting you all tensed up, and then its harder to do a move, and even if you can do it, you will probably be paying more attention to your hands, and not the guy with the shotgun that’s sitting right behind you. ![]() 3. Minimax yourself. Minimax is an old RPG term that means find your strengths, and improve upon your weaknesses. 4. Don’t do Kstyle because it’s a formidable style. Go learn a BFLY step, and see how you like it. Learning Kstyle is a VERY long process. All other styles are JUST AS FORMIDABLE!If you dont believe me, go find a Dstyle pro. The oddball fighters are VERY formidable. If a good Dstyler comes in a game, and a good Kstyler comes in a game, they both Stand a good chance of winning. Its all about how you play. 5. Kstyling every game is the best way to practice it. It WILL be hard at first, but stick with it, and you’ll be an accomplished Kstyle artist in no time. ![]() 6. Find a good Key combo that fits your hands and style of Kstyle. 7. I firmly believe Kstyle skill can’t be taught, it can only be learned through experience. The moves however, can be taught. ![]() 8. Kstyle is more about outwitting your oponent, not going faster. You may be able to do every move there is of Kstyle, but you dont know when to use the moves. Thats where Kstyle Experience comes in(mentioned above) 9. The best way to improve your Kstyle is by perfecting Lightstep. Lightstep in itself is basic, and easily destroyed when you get hit. By practicing Lightstep, you improve your speed, thus you improve your Kstyle. I have tested this out on about 10 people, and recommend it to my students. The combo i recommend is Jump » Dash » Slash » Jump » Dash Key Combo’s 0006 Here is another vital point of any successful gamer. You have to find a nice key combo that helps you play more efficiently. In other words, you don’t want to be using a Key combo where the keys are spread all about the keyboard, that isn’t smart what so ever. The efficient way is to reduce movement of the fingers and make keys that are some of the default, and some new keys. I wouldn’t really suggest doing too many new keys at one time, as it will really confuse you, because your hands will be wanting to follow the same pattern they are used to, not the new combo you just set up. ![]() Here is the key combo I personally made and still use (all keys are default but the ones mentioned). 1 = Previous Weapon 2 = Next Weapon 3 = Select Item 1 4 = Select Item 2 Q = Select Weapon 1 E = Select Weapon 2 X = Select Sword F = Block Armor Priority 0007 If you are doing a Gladiator game, this stuff means squat, as you can just drop the guns and max yourself out Armor is an important part of a heavy hitter. You don’t want to have very good weapons without armor, unless of course you are the type who intentionally doesn’t wear armor to find a good challenge . Let me say that I think armor priority is based upon a weight to AP ratio, this meaning you want the most AP you can squeeze in for the least amount of weight. That being said, you need to look at what you HAVE equipped and what you WANT equipped. Heres my version of the priority of the 6 armor item types first. Left of < = Get rid of first, Right of < = Get rid of last.Jacket < Pants Gloves < Boots HP/AP Ring < +Wieght Rings Weapons 0009 Lets get to the basics of weapons >:P =Melee= Daggers – Cant have a dagger and still be Kstyle, sorry…Katanas – The more preferred weapon of a Kstyle user due to the fact it is lighter and hits harder than the Kodachi. Kodachis – These dual swords are interesting. They are heavier than the average Katana, and also don’t hit as hard. The added benefits of these are that they strike a good deal faster, and also have the bonus of being able to move while uppercuting an opponent, unlike the Katana. =Ranged= Shotguns – This weapon weighs an average of 18 to 20 pounds, and has 3(LVL 5 shotgun), 5, or 2(Avengers) shells each clip depending on the level and type of shotgun. The other benefit of these close range weapons is that they have a spread effect when fired. The bad side of these is that they have high delays and very bad accuracy at a range.Pistols – These weapons dont pack quite as much wallop as Revolvers do, but they carry more ammo each clip, can shoot 2~3 shots per revolvers shot, and are a bit more accurate than revolvers Revolvers – Basicaly a Pistol with a touch less accuracy, higher delay, and smaller clips. The real difference about this weapon is that it inflicts about 2 times the amount of damage per shot than the Pistol does. Rocket Launchers – When used well, the rocket launcher can be a very formidable weapon indeed. These weapons have a high delay, and carry an average of 3 to 5 shells each clip. They also carry the benefit of a spread effect when they hit a surface, so opponents hiding behind walls should beware. The real downer of these weapons are the fact that…well…they are rockets, they don’t fire like regular weapons, and when they hit a person, the damage depends on the area of impact, the closer the rocket is to the player, the more it hurts. Sub Machine Guns (SMG) – These are the automatic weapons that can be used like revolvers/pistols (1 in each hand). The down side of these weapons is that they are inaccurate at a range, but the good side is they excel at close range. Rifles – These are a pretty common weapon choice as they have a good deal of damage each shell, and are highly accurate. Add in aim, and these can kill a player with full life within seconds. Machine Guns (MG) – These are the heavy automatic guns. They hit between 16 and 18 a shell depending on level, and all weigh 28 pounds. They also have a unique ability, this being their clip size. They carry 2 120 clips each, so you have a while until you need to reload. The real drag with these weapons is that they are HORRIBLY inaccurate, and have a little higher delay than Rifles and the SMG series. Items – This means the grenades, armor kits, and health kits. I myself would rather equip weapons, armor, or rings before equipping items. ~~~~~~~ Gladiator games ~~~~~~~ 0010Well, there is an art to playing a gladiator game Ladies and Gentlemen, So allow me to point out a few tips for you. The common Gladiators are :: Beginners : This means that they barely have any skill, and probably dont know what they are doing. Turtles : They do nothing but a turtle pretty much. annoys alot of players. Flippers : They do mostly a turtle, then they will massive you, and then they will flip you, to either get in 4 cheap shots as you land, or they will try to Insta Kill/ Insta Fall you. TurtleFly : A player just learning BFLY probably, they dont go fast enough to be a BFLY, but they dont go slow enough to be a Turtle :P BFLY Users : Pretty much nothing but a Bfly with the occasional Light Step mixed in normaly on accident. Hybrids : These players use a variety of moves, and will normaly use Turtles, Flips, and a BFLY. They may also use Light Step, DBFLY, Juggles, Insta Falls, Double Slash, and anything else they can use. There is a technique to defeat all types of Gladiators, but youll have to find them out yourself, else it would spoil the fun .~~~~~~~ Kstyle Move Abbreviations ~~~~~~~ 0011People unfortunately have a tendency to name moves something else, thinking that they discovered it and such, so there are a few AKA (Also Known As) names out there too. Here are the more common Knowledge move abbreviations. * = Wild Card. Can be anything… BF/Bfly = Butterfly DBfly/Dbl BFLY = Double ButterFly FS = Flash Step, sometimes Full Step HS = Half Step HHS = Half Half Step LS = Light Step MS = Million Step QS = Quick S*, Quarter Step. SS = Slash Shot SS (2) = Slash Shot (2) WC = Wall Cancel WP = Wall Post WS = Wall Slash ES = Eighth Step RES = Reload Eighth Step JSD = Jump Shoot Dash Wind = Wind Step The difference between a Move and a Technique 0012Well, to put this simply, A move is something that is like a Slash shot, But a Technique is a combination of 2 or more moves used in a way that is effective, like Dragon Flight Technique (That would be a reason I added the Technique) That is basicaly all you need to know about this subject KSTYLE Move Guide 0013 This is where KStyle gets fun. Remember, there are regular moves, but you need to remember, keep the opponent guessing, dont do only one move, and dont do the moves only how i told you here, mix and match them around, and make your own techniques. For example, the Dragon Flight Technique is basicaly a HHS off a wall and then a dash with it, other people will use a multi wall run infused with HHS, Wall posts, and much more. These are only 2 examples of the infinite combos of KSTYLE. So be creative. ![]() Massive Techniques 0014 Notes : The massive comes in many forms, but you pretty much need to know only the more common areas. The one thing to note is massive damage, it can be high, or it can be 1 damage to HP. This ALL is dependant on the range of the massive. The closer you are when it hits, the more it stings. Backwards Massive - This massive is where you Turn your back onyour enemy, Throw your massive, and spin right at them, this is a good gaurd breaking massive. Reverse Massive - Add some spin to the massive to break through the enemies Gaurd. Ground Blocking - This is the ONLY way to block a Sky Massive, but it ONLY blocks Sky massive. Sky Massive - Reverse massive and massive at the sky. Can be blocked only by the Ground Block. Sky Blocking - Blocks ALMOST every massive. Block to the sky and move backwards. Silent Jump 0015 Notes : This is useful for sneaking up on opponents without making any noise. Step Combo : Jump » Right Click (HOLD) » Jump Silent Step 0016 Notes : Lets you move silently faster except the landing. Step Combo : Jump » Slash » Dash JSD 0017 Notes :This move is so utterly simple i didnt take a replay of it. Step Combo: Jump » Switch to gun » Shoot » Switch to sword » Dash Wall Cancel 0018 Notes :Use this move incase you end up in a wall flip and didnt slash, so you dont get in a real bind. Step Combo : If you end up in a backflip from a wall = Right click for a second » Resume where you left off. Wall Slash 0019 Notes :Good for moving around on walls if you cant FS climb yet. Step Combo : Jump(only needed if started from ground) » Dash » Slash » Jump(right after slash) Multi Wall Run 0020 Notes :This move may be a little tricky, so just keep practicing and youll get it eventualy. The way to do this is basicaly to Double tap space. Double Slash 0021 Notes : This move is handy as you get the best of both areas of the sword, the defensive and offensive. To pull this move off, you slash 2 times, and block right after the 1st slash ends, so you get 2 slashes instead of 1 and only go through 1 slash movement. Step Combo : Slash » Slash » Block (RIGHT as the 2nd slash starts) Butterfly Step 0022 Notes : This is one of the most commonly known moves of Kstyle, and also one of the most effective steps. Improving your Butterfly : Most people who start Butterfly have troubles. So i get asked often, "How do i improve my Butterfly????" The best way to improve your BFLY, or any Kstyle speed, is to Lightstep. The reason most people have trouble is due to thier dash area. The combo I suggest to PERFECT is this one : Lightstep combo : Jump » Dash » Slash » Jump » Dash Step Combo : Jump » Dash » Slash » Block Learning Bfly from step 1 0023Well, if you are learning this step, it is probably one of the first moves you want to learn and master flawlessly. Dont worry about speed when learning this, as a quality butterfly step is the result of alot of practice, a trained hand, and about 3 to 5 keyboards >:P( j/k ). Remember, go slow and steady when doing your first bfly steps, so you get the rhythm down, so you will be what I call a "TurtleFly", You wont be going slow enough to be a Turtle, and you wont be going fast enough to be called a Butterfly . Using this Step by Step learning, you will slowly develop the butterfly skill with ease.1.A) Step 1 is nothing but having your sword out and learning how to time your dashes. Use nothing more than a repeated 2 step combo. Do this as fast as you can without missing a dash, breaking your keyboard, and/or Finger. ![]() When first learning this move, dont expect to be uber fast, it takes TIME. 1.B) Step Combo : Jump » Dash 2.A) When you get a nice comftorable feeling and speed with step 1, we add in the next part to a BFLY step, the slash. 2.B) Step Combo : Jump » Dash » Slash 3.A) Now that we have a nice and steady rhythm to the BFLY, we add in the final key, the Block. If you do everything in the order I have said, you will be doing a nice and steady bfly. If you do the BFLY every game to get around a majority of the time, you will also be building up the speed of it, so practice often. ![]() 3.B) Step Combo : Jump » Dash » Slash » Block Step Variations -------------------------------------------------------------------------- 0024 Side BFLY - A Bfly used to circle the enemy at a distance and slowly approach when they are vulnerable. This variation can also be used to find your enemies weak points, and exploit them to their fullest. 0025 Offensive BFLY - This is a rather risky version of bfly if you do it wrong. You basicaly BFLY right at the enemy as fast as possible, in an attempt to make them vulnerable. This move will screw either you or them, so plan carefully when using it. 0026 Defensive BFLY - This is basicaly doing a Bfly away from an enemy, Useful when your only trying to observe their movements or find an opening in their attack. 0027 ZigZag BFLY - This is a tight and quick paced BFLY step that combines Side and Foward BFLY, and is similar to COD BFLY, but the aiming is a little different. You do 1 Foward Dash followed by 1 Side Dash. 0028 Chaos BFLY - No certain form, you just go where the fight takes you. 0029 COD(Circle Of Death) BFLY - Lethal when used right. You get right up by the enemy and start bflying in a tight circle around them. Double Butterfly 0030 Notes : The famous Double Butterfly, which many ask about, and some doubt it exists, but heres the true Double Butterfly Ladies and Gentlemen Step Combo : (HOLD) directional button » Jump » Slash » Block » Dash » Slash » Block Step Combo Notes : Try to start with a normal butterfly, then jump, SLASH and Block, then do another butterfly, and you have yourself a Double Butterfly the only hard thing about this move is the timing, so practice, practice, and practice some more if you want to be any good at it. You hold down the button for the direction you want to go at the start. Void Step 0031 Notes : This Step is best used when you have the Kodachis. You cant charge a massive with them, but your oponent may say other wise. This is just a glitch on your end. When using the kodachi's, This move can maul the livin hell out of any poor bastard whos stunned Step Combo : Slash (hold) » Release just before the massive charges » Repeat Light Step 0032 Notes : This is a decent evasive step, but it can be used in a way to screw up the enemy. Play with it in gladiator games with BFLY, and test it. Step Combo : Standard Version : Jump » Dash » Slash » Dash Advanced Version : Jump » Dash » Slash » Jump » Dash Step Notes : use an Advanced LightStep to help you make your BFLY Faster. Learn to do this at a good pace. Flash Step 0033 Notes : There are a couple versions to this step, but they basicaly all start off the same. This move is used to mostly go further faster, and lose less altitude. ***Please note*** The starting jump on the Aerial and Climb FS's only needs to be done to get off the ground. ALL switches are to be done FAST. 0034 0035 0036 Step Combo Variations : Flash Step Aerial : Jump » Dash » Slash » Switch to gun » Switch to sword » Dash Flash Step Ground : Jump » Dash » Slash » Switch to gun » Switch to sword » Dash Flash Step Ground Advanced : Jump » Dash » Slash » Switch to gun » Switch to sword » Jump » Dash Flash Step Climb : Jump » Dash » Slash » Switch to gun » Switch to sword » Jump Reload Shot 0037 Notes :The first shot was a normal switch, Then I tried to do Reload shot, The last shot was for certain Reload Shot. Notice the delay shortened, but not alot, But it still is faster. Extra Notes : You can add in a Reload shot to many steps such as HS, HHS, SS, and even Flash Step. Step Combo : Switch to gun 1 » Shoot » Reload » Switch to gun 2 » Shoot » Reload and repeat if wanted Step Notes : You can add on a Reload Shot to quite a few things. view Half Step and Half Half Step for more info on this subject. Slash Shot 0038 Notes : I never really learned this step, so im not the best at it. This is the step that is normaly learned before the HS. Step Combo : Jump » Dash » Slash » Switch to gun » Shoot gun. Slash Shot (2) 0039 Notes :I suppose you can call this move a gundash with a shot, use it with a bfly's momentum, and such. Step Combo : Jump » Slash(HOLD) » Switch to gun » Dash » Shoot Half Step 0040 Notes : The evolved form of SS. This move is highly evasive, but has less exit flow than the HHS to me. The Extra Variation ive seen used before, and it works well. Step Combo : Standard : Jump » Dash » Slash » Switch to gun » Dash » Shoot Extra Variation : Jump » Dash » Slash » Switch to gun A » Dash (hold down directional button) » Shoot » Reload » Switch to gun B » Shoot Half Half Step 0041 Notes :This is the move I myself prefer, as it is faster than the HS, and has better exit flow, so its easier to go to your next move without screwin up. The Extra Variation im including is also a decent one, but you will tumble at the 3rd dash. The benefit of this dash is that you will pull off 2 shots instead of 1. This actualy worked rather well with my Rocket Launcher and Shotgun combo, Rocket shot first, Shotgun shot second. If you time this step well enough, you can probably switch to sword, slash, and pull off another gun dash with a shot. If thats possible, you can repeat that alot of times in a row. Step Combo : Jump » Dash » Slash » Switch to gun » Jump » Dash » Shoot EXTRA VARIATION 1 : Jump » Dash » Slash » Switch to gun A » Jump » Dash » Shoot » Switch to gun B » Dash » Shoot. EXTRA VARIATION 2 : Extra Variation : Jump » Dash » Slash » Switch to gun A » Jump » Dash (hold down directional button) » Shoot » Reload » Switch to gun B » Shoot To find if you are doing HS right, equip a rocket launcher, and do the HS. If your Rocket SKIMS the ground, you are doing it right. Million Step 0042 Notes : This is actuly just a HS or a HHS with an automatic weapon like a rifle. You need to pull off the 2nd dash a little later than you normaly would, as the move should be made to shoot 2 or 3 times each move Instant Fall 0049 Notes : This can be difficult to execute, as you have to know when the uppercut will actualy hit, then you have to block, wait for the block to finish, then jump and slash. If you dont wait for the block to finish, you wont slash quickly enough, thus the move is messed up. ALSO NOTE THIS, when you get the Advanced insta fall down, you can use an automatic weapon such as a Rifle, and do an Insta Kill move on the enemy, and apparently have them float while they are helplessly floating LOL >:P For the insta fall JUGGLE version, you can try to perfect this, or just slash em 2 times on the way down. I have linked 3 juggles this way. 0050 Step Combo : Instant Fall : Uppercut » Block » Jump » Slash » Block Instand Fall JUGGLE 1 : Uppercut » Block » Jump » Slash » Block » Slash » Block » Repeat Instand Fall JUGGLE 2 : Uppercut » Block » Jump » Slash » Block » Dash » Slash » Block » Repeat Bfly step Instant Fall To Shot : Uppercut » Block » Jump » Slash » Switch to gun » Shoot 0051 Rocket Ride 0052 Notes : I just found this little move out on May 20, 2006. You use the rocket to cause damage and move the enemy away from you... Note the rocket MISSING THE TARGET!! It damaged him and it changed his direction of Fall! This was just a miss!! If you can hit your target when they are going up, it will have a better effect! Step Combos : Uppercut » Switch to Rocket » Aim » Shoot rocket Land Mine 0053 Notes : Basicaly, Uppercut someone, wait for em to fall, then start spamming thier landing zone with rockets and aim at them, This will cause them to BOUNCE after they land, which I think causes a brief disrutpion in the ability to move area. The Idea is to almost deplete Thier health with this one move.. This can only be done with 2 ROCKETS. Step Combo : Basic : Uppercut » Take a few steps Back » Aim at thier Landing Zone » Spam it with rockets InstaFall to Land Mine : Uppercut » Block » Jump » Slash » Switch to Rocket A » Dash Back » Spam Thier Landing Zone with rockets Super Dash Glitch 0054 Notes : I used the Mouse Rebinder (you can download it from gunzfactor main page) Scroll up = W, Scroll down = Reload. You can spice it up inn other ways as I did, with pulling out your gun and only reloading so you dont screw up the glitch. Step Combo : Free Fall/Float for 1 second » Dash as fast as you can Secret Gun Massive 0055 Notes : This is a glitch that someone showed me, But I have no clue what its called, so ill just call it Secret Gun Massive ^.^;;. The concept is again simple, but execution is a real pain. The enemy cant see your shining hands when you got it, but you can ^.^ This is really only usefull if you can pull it out in the first few trys EVERY TIME. PS. You will break this move if you switch to anything but the sword. Step Combo : Charge Massive » Change to gun just as massive is fully charged » Now you got glowing guns » Shoot if you want » Change to sword » Massive Movies : Secret Gun Massive.gzr Screen Shot : This was done with the LVL 34 Raven 7 x2 ![]() Dragon Flight Technique 0056 Notes : This isnt an actual move, but rather it is a Technique. I made this technique myself, it is evasive, and takes practice to use. The actual movement direction is alot harder to read than it actualy is to execute roflmao Step Combo : Jump » Dash at wall » Slash » Change to gun » Dash with wall direction » Shoot » Change to sword » Dash at wall » Slash » Change to gun » Dash with wall in opposite direction than the first » Shoot Stylish Step 0057 Notes : This move is a special one like DAN STEP, as it is a move that LINKS moves to make techniques (Such as Stylish HS, Stylish Bfly, etc..). Just have fun wwith this move, as it keeps you movin ^.^ Step Combo : Jump » Dash » Slash » Switch to Gun » Switch to Sword Dan Step 0058 Notes : This move is a special Move like Stylish Step. You add this move onto others. Such as the START of a BFLY (that makes it a DOUBLE Bfly) or the END of an Insta Fall. Play with the move and find your own way to use it. Step Combo : Slash » Block Taps 0059 Notes : This is basicaly where you do a HS/SS/HHS etc.... BUT! You switch the JUMP AND THE DASH AROUND. For a little fun, figure out what the Examples are Taps of! The answers will be at the end of the next post.Step Combo : Switch Jump » Dash at start to Dash » Jump Step Combo Example 1 : Dash » Jump » Slash » Switch » Shoot Step Combo Example 2 : Dash » Jump » Slash » Switch » Dash » Shoot Huge Massive Glitch 0060 Step Combo : Block a players slash so you keep getting a larger massive. This is supposed to do more damage to the enemy, a larger massive show, AND give you a larger massive hit area. (3FOR1 WEWT!) ![]() Slash Medding 0061 Notes : This is effective in a fight where the enemy wont leave you with much elbow room. Basicaly hs a medkit. Then you can bfly or Lightstep over it. If your skilled enough, you can crossover your HS's and pick up the medkits. YOU MUST DASH ON THE GROUND FOR THIS TO WORK WELL... Step Combo : Jump » Dash » Slash » Switch to Medkit » Dash ON GROUND » Repeat if desired Quick Medding 0062 Notes :Basic, simple, and effective. You quickswitch between two medkits while walking against a surface to speed up the process Step Combo : Walk into a wall » Switch to medkit A » Drop medkit » Switch to Medkit B » Drop Medkit » Repeat if desired please thank me if you liked this guide : D CREDITS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
