| Registered User | Hey guys, I was asked to make a Tut on how to create your own BGM and Backgrounds for Gunz so here it is :P Before doing the following steps, please be sure you have downloaded the attachments at the bottom. If you need a Song Converter, Download the one from here: [Only registered and activated users can see links. ] A list of serial numbers for this program will be attached at the bottom. 1. Go to your Gunz directory (C:/Ijji/ENLGISH/Gunz) and open the folder that contains the file you wish to edit (for music open the Sound folder, for backgrounds open the Interface folder.) 2. Backup the files you wish to edit (the music file is bgm.mrs, and the background pictures is loadable.mrs.) 3. Copy the file to the folder containing the MRS Decompiler that I have provided. Then open the file "MRS Decompiler" and type in the file name (only the name, DO NOT include .mrs) in the top section, then hit decompile. 4. Look in the folder and there should be a new folder, this is the decompiled version of the file you want to edit. Open this folder and find the picture you are looking to change/edit. 5. Once you have found it, open up BruteCRC32 and hit browse, then find the picture/song that you want to edit and "Open". Hit examine and you'll see a mixture of numbers and letters appear in the blank to the right. Copy and save this number somewhere, you will need it later. 6. Now for the picture/song editing. If you are just going to replace the picture/song completely, find the picture/song you want (pictures must be 800x600 in size) and rename it to the name of the picture/song it will be replacing, then put it in the decompiled folder. For music, you'll need a song of any size, but if it is not a .ogg you'll need to convert it to a .ogg for it to work. 7. Open BruteCRC32 again, hit browse, and find the picture/song you have just put in the folder. Now, Remember that code I had you copy before? Well here is where you'll need it. Copy that code and paste it in the blank above the "Do It!" button. Then simply press do it. 8. This will take a few minutes to process, but after it goes through a box will pop up asking you if you want the code to be added to the file. Select "Yes" and it will finish. To make sure it worked, press the "Do It!" button again, and if it worked it will say "There is nothing to be done." 9. Repeat these steps to edit the other pictures or music files you want edited (you obviously don't have to re-decompile everytime unless you aren't editing stuff in the same file again.) 10. Then simply close the decompiled folder and open up the Decompiler. This time were going to type the name of the file in the lower blank and hit "Compile." Then the .mrs from before will be replaced with the new one. You will notice that the file size will be different from the one you had before. 11. Then place the new .mrs in the correct directory and run the game like normal. If you do not have the Non-Updating Launcher, you will need it and you can get it from my other tutorial here: [Only registered and activated users can see links. ] Thanks for reading my Tut and please Thank me if it helped :P Last edited by Rektor; 08-19-2008 at 03:43 PM.. |
