If you think about it, Clerics dont actually make that much. Most of any meso they do earn is through B3 and Zombies, only around 1m per Good Decent Drop. Where as, an Ice/Lightning Mage can train at FireDrakes and earn anywhere from 1m-10m. This is just about the same for firemages. Ice is a very handy skill because it freezes monsters, fire has stronger magic damage but has no effect like ice, and Clerics just heal and have very low magic damage. This is just my perspective of the whole magician world.
