Here is the deal. Game Guard doesn’t just “not connect” on its own. It most often means that either you have played with the files, or you simply cannot connect to the server.
If you find you are having the error at a specific location (Such as connecting at a school or a library or starbucks) then it is highly likely that the port is blocked. In this case there is nothing you can do, short of connecting to the router and switching the port (Which you most likely won’t be able to do, without sufficient passwords… or learning how to tunnel). So, if this is the case your only option is to connect to the internet somewhere else.
If this happens in a place where you have connected before. Then delete Maple Story and reinstall completely (as something has been altered/damaged either by your doing or not).
If you have never connected to Maple Story, then contact your ISP, and/or the person who set up the Network, and find what has been blocked. Also, you should check any firewalls you have to not block MapleStory.exe.
I hope some of this helps.
