Installation failure - Catastrophic failure

Well... i formated my pc and downloaded the new install client from maplesea website ( (MapleSEA_MSSetup060808a) ... and then i get the following message before the installation is terminated.

Failure: MaplestorySEA
Error: Catastrophic Failure

it is not the problem of the setup file, as i re-download the client for 2nd time. i tried finding solution on my own, but in vail... this forum's search returns 0 result, so i apologize if this thread is a duplicate help-request

Weird ... first of all do you have any AV's running or anything like that could possibly block out the installation of MS ... ?

nope.. and i think it isn't the problem of any AV. i even tried install maple in safe mode and it gets me the same thing.

Hopeless... maybe reinstallation of window is the only way..

Hrm ... I've never experianced this happening before. I would try closing as MUCH app's you can then go try to install it. Something must be conflicting with MS's installation.

one thing for ur information, i already reformat the window, and it is still the same... just like what u said, something is conflicting this version of maple setup with my machine

i think an older version of maple setup will solve the problem, but i dun hav it. if someone can upload it for me, i will thank u 1000X times.. ... although i know it is not easy due to the large size of the file

i am also still working to solve the problem, wish us luck and once again thank you slayah

An older version would even screw up more if your newer one is wrong

Empty your temporary internet files and re-download (Often when redownloading something it will just move an old copy of your new location, under the new name). Try to install in safe mode (without networking), if the same error arises, my guess is that either: your computer doesn’t meant the requirements for MSea or… I have no idea.

Also try downloading the zipped parts separately and trying that route. If you are having the problem after you formatted, and in safe mode, this is more than just software conflict.

yup.. still not working..

my pc spec:

P4 1.7
640MB DDR-RAM
Sapphire Radeon 9550 Turbo 128MB
Onboard C-Media Sound
Running on WinXP SP2

the same machine goes pretty well with maple before i formatted window.. i remember it runs the older version of complete maplestory setup without any problem.. just having no idea on the problem now
