Buying Defames

Yup, recently many people are buying defames... not defaming others, but themselves... why? I know there're many reasons... but I felt that these reasons may not be true also... So I wanted to know from you guys :)

If they can't get to the top, then they want themselves at the bottom.

The less fame u got the higher chance u get drops.
e.g: someone with a negative drop has higher chance to get drops thatn someone who has a positive fame.
I saw a hacker with negative fame get a lot of drops.

Well, Fame does nothing... except for a few quests that require it... It has always done nothing... and will always do nothing. As long as people buy me fameing or defameing, I will be more than happy to make a profit from them.

lols la, i dont wanna be rude, but thats pretty much false..
people think that, but its not even proven... Drops are based on your Luck (not luk ap points)
defames, and fames, has absolutely nothing to do with the Rate of your drops. The only purpose of fames are :
- Quests/Armour/Weapon Requirements
- Grudge System (If u hate some1, u would defame, vise versa, that is the only grudge system there is on GMS (Apart from the pvp system which is not out yet)

To me, i used to collect defames, on my sin, why? simply because to me, its the new "IN" Fames are to original, defames.. arn't (well thats why i had up to -100 defames on my sin)

Hmm so far I think the only make-sense reason posted is "If they can't get to the top, they want themselves at the bottom." But still I don't quite agree and you know... most maplers are arrogant... why would they want themselves at the bottom?

omg...if they want themselves at bottom that means, they not on the top of ranking page, so they wont get much attention..i guess

drop percentage increasing for low fame is false!
The hackers have negative fame cuz they hack.... and they are low life (most of them)
if fame stands for famous status, y would anyone want lower fame.???
