| Registered User | MapleStory For The Wii [Only registered and activated users can see links. ] Nintendo Corp, Ltd. President Satoru Iwata recently held a press conference with Korean media, outlining the company’s plans for its official subsidiary in the region. The conference was mainly focused on the company’s launch of a Korean language version of the DS Lite on January 18 of next year, which Iwata felt confident will be just as successful in that region as it has been in other markets, despite unnamed Korean industry analysts casting doubt the portable device’s sales potential. Iwata then commented on surmounting the limited market presence of console games in South Korea, specifically that he felt as though he were “selling women’s cosmetics to men,” The gaming industry in Korea is dominant by PC games and more specifically MMORPG’s, all consoles have lost in trying to dominate the market. Iwata also discussed the company’s plans for Wii in the Asian peninsula, where he said that a launch of the new console is anticipated for late next year after language localization is completed. However the highlight of the conference was made in an announcement saying “We plan to actively support Korean game software developers who have great expertise in developing online games and support their advances into foreign markets, Nintendo has started a game development partnership with NEXON, creator of the online racing game Crazyracing Kartrider and Korean publisher of the popular MMORPG MapleStory.”The news was received rather well from both fans of NEXON’s MapleStory and the media as well as the MMORPG community all of which are in thought of just what NEXON might be making. However it is unknown if whatever NEXON makes will make it outside of the Korean Market. NEXON so far has announced that a Nintendo DS version of the game MapleStory is currently under development, with the Korean release date set for late 2006 or early 2007. MapleStory DS will be the second Nintendo DS game developed by a Korean company. Most speculate that the graphical style will remain the same, but the sprites for the characters must be downsized for the DS’s dual 256 x 192 LCD Screens, considering that some characters can be bigger than that resolution, and most high-leveled monsters are well beyond that resolution. The game was announced at E³ 2006. |

| Registered User | Re: MapleStory For The Wii Well the Wii doesn't sound too reasonable but it's true that they have other controllers too... But skill casting would be a pain in the arse with only a few buttons. I prefer USB Mouse and keyboard :D |

| Registered User | Re: MapleStory For The Wii few buttons? if movement is controlled by the controller movement, we have like... 2 keys for jump and attack, and the rest we can bind to something. |
