Hacker Ethics

this is a remake of [Only registered and activated users can see links. ]by moodygtfan.

this thread is designed to teach you ethics regarding encounters with other hackers in game and on forums.

in game encounters with another hacker:

• do not run directly to someone hacking as the other hacker might think you're going to report them. but if you're going to run towards them, say you're not there to report or screenshot them.
• if you're going to ask them how to hack or what not, ask them nicely. not "ZOMG HOW YOU GET TO BE L33T H4XX0RZ?!1!?!" if the hacker does not respond, do not keep pestering them. they're either botting or do not want to answer your question. that or they think you can get your answers from a forum, not them.
• do not ask them for hacks.
• if there is already a hacker in a map, do not think it's ok to 'help' them kill or to hack in the same channel. this only screws up both your spawn and their spawn.
• do not loot/party/chat invite another hacker unless they say you can once you ask them.
• "never, I repeat never, threaten to report for hacking if they dont answer your question. it is the epitomy of being a noob. it could be the definition. it is disrespectful, plus makes people less likely to be nice to polite questioners."
• most hackers prefer to be left alone. please do not just go looking around a map to find the hacker. it ruins their hacking/exp/privacy.

forum encounters:

• don't beg/ask for hacks. use the search button.
• use general terms for general stuff. if you're talking about buffy engine, say buffy. if you're talking about UCEs in general, use the term UCEs.
• don't be mean or cuss/flame someone even if they ask noob questions.
• if you think a thread should be stickied, PM a moderator about it. only important threads that everyone should know of will be stickied.
• for the rest go read the rules and regulations [Only registered and activated users can see links. ].

lol. i like that.

but seriously. if another hacker is being a noob and hacking at hunting grounds, i would (and do) report them. they're being a jerk and should be banned.

when i tell another hacker that they are in a bad spot and have a high chance of being banned, they call me the noob. i'm just trying to help a fellow hacker (or leecher, lol)
i'm just letting them know what i know (and a lot of times what is common sense...), so how am i the noob?
(and i have seen their names on the list for being banned, i like to write them down just to see what happened to them, lol)


oh yeah, and maybe add, don't tell all your friends the name(s) of the other hackers who helped you or told you how to hack.
that just leads to spamming, harassing and reporting...

I dont see the point of this cause i havent met one hacker that respects other hackers while there training, not once!

of course you haven't met one. that's b/c they changes channels when they see you botting. or you just never see them b/c they stay out of everyone's way.

i've had plenty of little brats come to a channel where i'm hacking (usually offmap) and just turn on their hacks right there, and they know i'm there. like they're gonna out bot me or something. when that happens, the spawn rate goes down from 21 to 14. so we both have less monsters to kill. (i usually stop attacking and wait for them to realize that it's pointless, especially when a third hacker comes in and starts botting...)

but then, i usually try to avoid those maps. but now that there are even more hackers, even the most forgotten maps are being overrun.
