| Registered User | Microsoft to get Wii Remote? Motion-snsiive controller on the Xbox 360? Maybe... Rumure circulating on the internet have reawakened the persistent suspicion that Microsoft has a motion-sensing controller in the works, although the company has refused to comment. MTV reported a number of details it had received from an anonymous developer working with the alleged device. The source claimed that the project is due for completion by the end of this year, and that the controller is ahping up to look a lot like a single Nintendo Wii Remote minus the nunchuk. The ket differences are said to be the presence of four buttons, an analogue stick and microphone. Another suggested boon for this hypothetical controller would be the ability to work with an Xbox Live Vision camera. Microsoft's official line is that it "dosen't comment on romour and speculation" but the romour has received support from previously reliable online tipsters and it's no secret that the company has been poundering motion-sensing since the Wii was first announced. Then-Xbox cheif Peter Moore hinted that the company had "plans" early last year, and outgoing Microsoft chairman Bill Gates dropped further hints a few months later, but further details have not been forthcoming. It's not hard to see why they would be intersted: Nintendo's motion-controlled Wii remote is cited as one of the main reasons for the console's runway sucess, breaking down barriers of entry for the non-gamer crowd. Sony's Sixaxis has been less well-received, but that still elaves Microsoft as the only big current-generation player without motion-sensitive controller. Whether it will plug this gap remains to be seen, but given the Wii's huge success and Microsoft's keeness to add more casual games like Scene It: Lights, Camera, Action to the Xbox 360 catalogue, it does make the idea more plausible. We'll what and see if there are further clues at the upcoming E3 and Leipzig games confrences in the summer. ![]() -Burne Last edited by Burned Your; 06-02-2008 at 04:29 PM. |

| Registered User | Re: Microsoft to get Wii Remote? Perhaps in the US, but in Japan the Wii's target audience seems to be families, and many... many of the advertisements are directed toward adults. |

| Registered User | Re: Microsoft to get Wii Remote? Yes, but 9/10 games not the Brain acadamy or anything like that...actual games are good for the first few days but they are mainly aimed at under 12s in my opinion |
