i think its ok, though i prefered old one.

nah its not really new software, its a update that made the interface change
from the old dashboard to now a half wii - half ps3 alike interface.

The avatar thing makes the 360 feel more chilish. It ruins the hardcore gamer like atmosphere. I dont really like it and Im not sure if you can change it back -_-

well the new interface is a little confusing so yeah id prefer the last one but im pretty sure there is a way to change it back atleast i hope. the avatar thing is pretty gay plus Wii had it first so i dont like the non-original thing ya know.

It's terrible! Disgraceful!

Not only does the "install" feature not work, it effectively slows down certain games, and the interface itself is buggy and has caused crashing and corruption of save files. It's visual aesthetic is also inferior to the old "Blades" interface. The term "don't fix what's not broken" hasn't applied in console gaming this much since Sony unveiled their boomerang controllers at E3.
