Windows Vista released... finally!

Oh, Windows Vista, you've gone through so many perils--delays on the magnitude of Duke Nukem Forever, uncertainties with whether or not you'll live up to expectations, and flak over all your new features which were supposedly "copied" from your competitor, Apple's Mac OS X (but don't believe them, they're just jealous!). You've even had yourself scrapped and entirely rewritten. But now that you've finished developing, it's time to come out of your cocoon and prove yourself to the world. Prove those critics--those who've told you that you were never going to succeed, that you would, somehow, destroy the Internet (wtf?), that you would be a pile of copycat trash--wrong... or crash and burn in the process. Today, on January 30th, 2007, you shall be released into this mad world; today, you will succeed your older brother, Windows XP, who has been occupying the world's computers for a little over five years now (and, quite frankly, is getting a little old); and today will be the day that marks another generation in this Microsoft Windows lineage, the day of Microsoft's most significant operating system release ever.

Of course, you being a Microsoft OS, your launch will be a bumpy ride. Poorly developed drivers, DRM issues, upgrade caveats, et cetera. But I'm sure that'll all be sorted out when Service Pack 1 rolls around, right?

Yes, this was released at midnight on sunday here in the UK, And the night before there was a preview on it for about 2 hours lol.

People are already selling it at ebay a few days ago and Home Premium is only for US $134.99.

Haven't installed it yet. :P
The graphics drivers aren't that good for Vista yet (they're still in beta), so I'm going to wait a few days until NVIDIA releases the final drivers in a day or two.

As for the "copied from MacOSX".
Well yeah they copid fetures that were already present in Mac OS X Jaguar five years ago. Everybody that tells the opposite has never worked with Mac OS X befor. I use both, Mac for work and PC for Gamin. And Windows is crap compared to Mac OS.

I still plan on waiting and letting everyone else be the "guinea pig."
If it is like any other Windows release it has major issues and/or flaws.

[rant]Like I said… The DRM is repulsive. Windows Media Player eats away 15% of the CPU just playing an MP3. On my old system, the CPU usage is barely 1%. Where does this high CPU usage come from? The "Media Foundation Protected Pipeline" (screenshot of it in action). If Microsoft is taking a hint from the millions of DRM haters, they will remove DRM all together even before SP1.[/rant]

Ehh... Nobody was flocking to the stores on launch night to get their copy of Vista. Nobody wants it? Everyone has already pirated their copy? Who knows…
