Last Warning - DO NOT Abuse the Point System!!

I just banned a person who abused the point system by creating new accounts and give points to their main account. People who abuse the system will be banned for 30 DAYS and all their points will be GONE. PLAY FAIR. We will monitor the system ALL the TIME and we will ban users who abuse system without any notices.

This is sad, Im guessing it was Lizhoupe seeing as his name just Turned Pink, but if he cheated I guess he deserves it, I don't see the need to cheat anyway its to easy to get points on this system, but don't go off changing it :)

Why don't you set it up so only 1 account per IP?
If possible I thought that it was.

I believe it can be possible with a few additional vBulletin hacks.

Yes I have seen many users abuse the system *cough* Dynamerek *cough*. He has 31 referrals already!!!

Sure, it's possible. Re-evaluate that for a second though: ISPs like AOL assign each user to a public (I guess you could call it private though) proxy server and a lot of users access via that server. Ban one of these IPs (which are all we can see), and you've whiped out half of an ISP.

Besides which, there's also the problem of proxies. Anybody that keen on cheating can easily get an anonymous proxy and bypass any ban we put on them.

goodie... As if a warning is going to do much good. If I recall properly the last time we had a points system(for downloads) GzP was flooded instantly, I once made a new thread. Late that day it was 3 pages back with 20 replies. Oh well it's the admins call.

this does not deal with attachments.. so it will not be as bad..but we still monitor the website closely.
