Remember back in the day? Do you remember how intense the race to the moon was?

There's something just as intense happening, right now. The race to claim the North Pole.

Global Warming is melting the ice at the north pole, revealing new, oil and mineral rich lands. Russia, Denmark, Canada, Norway, and the US all have claims in the north pole. Russia seems to be leading right now, with geological evidence that the north pole is connected to their country. They've also planted a flag at the geographic north pole, on the ocean floor.

The US's claim isn't much - Alaska and the waters around it. The US plans to start claiming. TIME magazine has a "Most-Likely" claim map (Not available online). The map is just an extension of already claimed waters and land for these countries.

Just remember, when you talk recourses, you're talking politics. Expect to hear more on this from the news.

I won't be surprised if the US somehow manages to work around it's weak claim and take the North Pole.

It's almost funny to see how people are thinking they own land. We've got some fun and action packed (e.a bloody) decades ahead. Gotta love our society! But don't worry guys: we will learn our lesson, painfully yes but we will learn it.
