The people at the DC also believed it was "a large botnet attack. Many hosts attacking the machine from many different IPs".

Hi Skyline_GTR ..

Me and x1nixmzeng were on MSN when this happened and we both needed to view something here and couldn't. But luckily the problem was solved. But what do these hackers who attack the machine want. What the purpose is I don't understand. Just to make our lives slower?

It's not really a matter of time because all the immature kid has to do is go into an irc server and enter a command.

wow finally i an go back on after 1 month of no GzP i was really giving up hope.. Thnx admins for finally fixing this i missed GzP so much >.< and omg if i knew those people in real life i would kick there ass so hard they wouldn even touch a computer again. Hey i wasnt active because of this and i lost points i see is there anyway to get them back/ i mean it wasnt my fault i cudnt acces the site now i have less points >.> i had 700 something x.x

The site was down for a few days tops, not a month. If the website goes down, it's unable to complete the automated deductions of points - so nobody's points were lost due to the website being down. You've obviously haven't been active on the forum for a lot longer than just the downtime period.
