Leeching

Recently SteveSOSP3 has brought a [Only registered and activated users can see links. ] to my attention. We are aware that leeching here is very common and that others will always post leeched content. But there are rules to posting leeched content. They are as follows:

You must cite the original poster, and the website it came from. Links are not necessary, but it must be visible in your post.
You cannot ask for thanks.

For example, this is exactly what you don't want to do:

Anyone can copy and paste a post. The least you could do is give credits. But, when you ask for thanks, you are definitely pushing it.

This is now a forum wide rule. You cannot ask for thanks for leeching material. You will get a 10 point infraction for doing so. End of story.

How long did that take? Almost 3 years? Really? Come on, at least the rule has been instated.

I never had a problem with people putting information here. But pasting and asking for thanks is pointless.

What if the user does not post the Correct Credits?

Is that a 15 or 30 Point Infraction?

I suppose it'll be up to the Moderator of that particular section.

No, it isn't. Along with this new rule, Skyline_GTR also added some new infractions to be handed out. Take a look at them when you have the time.

Can't agree more, this has been going on since ever since i joined GzP.
It should be, obvious that you shouldn't be allowed to ask for thanks.

XTZ recently told me that 95% of GzP's members are leachers. Is this true? Also, if you post a piece of material that you created, could you still ask for Thanks?
