The lack of GBA slot turned me off to the DSi - until I see some games that really require it, I don't see myself upgrading any time soon.

DSi is better and if you really want to play your old GBA games, just play them on your old DS. Or run an emulator

I would go for the Dsi, for one reason only, the Dsi has better wifi support. You can go on WPA encrypted networks, whereas the DS does not support this.
