    [Tutorial]Beam Impact 6I

6i Beam Impact Tutorial Credits go to eLfeN

    Requirements:

    - Good mental sum or a scientific calculator (Casio)
    - Good accuracy in power

In this tutorial, I take wind 0° as the vertical, 90° as horizontal.

To begin with, 6i beam impact can be calculated based on a simple formula.

The formulas provided will be accurate from a dist of 8 - 38 yards.

There are basically 4 factors to consider in 6i Beam Impact:

    -Distance from hole & Terrain

    -Hole Height

    -Wind

    Distance from Hole

For every distance, there is a slight change in the formula, I will break it down into 2 parts:

From 8 - 25y: Multiply 1.2 to the distance from hole.

    From 25 - 38y: Multiply 1.25

For 40y and above: Multiply 1.4 (This is just a rough estimate and to beam at 40y and above is not that easy.)

    Terrain

Multiply 100/(Terrain percentage) to the distance from hole. i.e. if the ball is on rough, multiply 100/95 to distance from hole

    Hole Height

    If the hole height is

-between +0.3m and -0.3m, the changes can be consider negligible.

-from +0.3m - +0.5m, add the hole height to the power needed

-from +0.6m - +1.0m, add the hole height and an additional 0.5 to the power needed

-from +1.2m - +1.5m, add the hole height and an additional 0.7 to the power needed

    Wind

THe further the distance from hole, the more wind effect there is. In this case, I take it that the wind is directly against you.

From 8-10y, add Wind Strength(WS) / 6 to the power needed

    From 10 - 14y, add WS / 4.5 to the power needed

    From 14 - 25y, add WS / 3.5 to the power needed

    From 25 - 38y, add WS / 3 to the power needed

Combining all, the average equation looks like this:

    1.2 * Distance from hole * 100/100 + hole height + WS / 3.5

I know this looks confusing so I've included examples.

    Example 1:

    Distance from hole: 15y

    Terrain: 100%

    Wind: 1m 0° against you

    Hole Height: 0m

    Calculation:

    1.2 * 15 + 1 / 3.5 + 0 = 18 + 0.286 = 18.286y

    Hence, percentage power needed = 18.286y / 140 * 100 = 13.06%

Please note that if you shoot 13.1% or 13%, you will miss your beam impact. As I mentioned, you need accuracy in power.

    Example 2:

    Distance of hole: 28y

    Terrain: 95%

    Wind: 7m 40° against you

    Hole Height: 1.12m

    Calculation:

    1.25 * 28 * 100/95 + 7cos40° / 3 + 1.12 + 0.5 = 36.8 + 5.36 / 3 + 1.62 = 36.8 + 1.79 + 1.62 = 40.21

    Percentage Power = 40.21 / 140 * 100 = 28.72%

The angle at which you should aim will be up to your own estimation. There is no formula for that.

Also don't bother me for asking stupid question because this Tutorial is very clear.
Please hit the thanks button is this is usefull to you :)
