I like the thanks button rather than rep. If someone helps you in some way, you can simply click 'thanks' which is so convenient. No need to post anything or go through the rep process.

The Thanks system is a convenient system, theres a giant button saying "Thanks" that is just a simple click away... whereas the reputation +/- system I primarily use to point out "bad" emails to the mods. I normally don't thank people through the reputation +/- system mostly because it takes longer (if only marginally), and is more out of the way...

This isn't about which one people currently use more frequently. Evidently, the thanks system is more widely used on GzP simply because we've never promoted the use of the rep system nor have we set it up properly. This is about which you'd find more useful.
On a personal level, I find the rep system far more valuable as users have the ability to leave negative reputation as well as positive.

I think the thank system is better duo the simpleness of the thank system. you just press the thank button XD. rep is also cuwl but i dont like it. just my opinion ^^
