Agreed.
The Thanks system is practically useless as it is. Sure, it is nice being able to see how helpful a person is, since Rep is not necessarily a good identifier (you can be repped for 0 points, no one will know if you have goten repped hundreds of times by people with little/no rep points)
Other than that, really not much of a point to have a thanks system now that Rep is more important.

it should stay because it is a nice touch on the fourms and it akes people feel appriectited for of the hardwork they do
