I'll stick with XP32 on my laptop and debian on my development server, but my Desktop PC will most likely be upgraded from Vista Ultimate x64 to Windows 7.
I hope I don't run into more compatibility troubles then.
Alot of programs stopped working when changing from XP to Vista with my Desktop PC.

Had I the heavens’ embroidered cloths,
Enwrought with golden and silver light,
The blue and the dim and the dark cloths
Of night and light and the half light,
I would spread the cloths under your feet:
But I, being poor, have only my dreams;
I have spread my dreams under your feet;
Tread softly because you tread on my dreams.

Personally vista looked cool and all but i didnt like it...to many messages pop up all the time, and odds are 7 will most likely do the same thing but im not sure cause i havent used it but i like xp and im sticking with it.
Once it's officially released, i.e you can buy it, I'll try it then. But as for an official switch, not likely. It seems appealing, but I'll give it a test run before making any sound decisions.

I skipped Vista too and running Win7 Professional right now (msdnaa ftw)
7 found all drivers itself, i only installed the sounddriver manually to be able to plugin my headset+speakers at the same time.
All programms i installed run flawless so far, except avira antivir where i am not able to activate the antivir guard (but i am pretty sure its the firewalls fault, didnt investigate further yet).
The new library system is great, since i am able now to put my files where I want to and still find them well listed at one place.
Also i was able to resize my partitions with Win7 within a minute, where gparted would need about 10hours (yes i aborted gparted after 3 hours, and windows7 had no problems in recognizing all partitions as if nothing had happened)
