how to go online with mangos

Hello,

I have installed a mangos private server.

Everthing is working but i would like to put it online.

I would like to know how to do that, i just for me and my friend so the server is on my computer and i would like that my friend can connect on it.

i would not recommend mangos, most people are using ascent these days

more reliable

but if you still need help i can help you set one up

mangos have more things working, but DC more often, if u well choose the rev, average uptime is 3hour with 800 player...

there is no ascent to more....

noname=>Antrix=>Ascent=>OpenAscent=>Arcemu (plus many "Custom" like Summit, BurningEmu etc...)
Mangos is mangos since years...

This is actually quite the opposite of being true. Almost all of the private servers I've seen are using mangos for the reason of being more stable. I have had my server which is running mangos up with upwards of 1000 clients for over 2 weeks with no crashes! Only downtime was to upgrade the DB and Core. I've seen ascent servers with as low as 5 people crash for no reason at all.

External IP is the key.

Ascent more reliable? I seriously laughed IRL.

Ascent has had breakdowns over 5 times now, and is splitted into several failful derivates like ArcEmu. MaNGOS, in turn, has had NO breakdowns and has always been up with the most stable community you'll find, and it is very Open Source oriented as well.

I could go on, but I don't think I even need to. Everyone knows Ascent is a massive failure.

Now, in MaNGOS, you need to set your BindIP to your external IP for the server to listen on WAN.
