| Registered User | If I have wireless internet for my PC, am I screwed? I remember that for Gunz I had the same exact problem, I'm guessing that Rakion uses the same server system as Gunz, and that might be my problem. I have wireless internet, and people are telling me that that is the problem that causes me to not be able to hit ANYBODY OR ANYTHING, but people can still kill me. Does anyone know of a fix, or am I just screwed? |

| Registered User | Re: If I have wireless internet for my PC, am I screwed? it is not wireless internet because i am also using a wireless connection. it is just either 1. you are lagging 2. your firewall is blocking Rakion 3. the port which rakion sends packets out saying that you hit is closed or blocked. |

If it is a problem with the port, do you have any instructions/links to any guides that I may use to unblock it? I really want to play this game. | |

| Registered User | Re: If I have wireless internet for my PC, am I screwed? there is absolutely nothing wrong with your internet, don't worry to tell you the truth, this is the only reason I can think of that Rakion sucks... it's cause Rakion is a peer to peer game, so like.. sometimes you may hit them, but in reality they don't get hit cause on their computer they might be a little farther away or something.. so yeah... rakion just sucks that way.. no need to open ports, nothing... just play with it, or dont play at all.. sorry to say you really can't do anything... |

| Registered User | Re: If I have wireless internet for my PC, am I screwed? Please disregard 100% of what HuntersX said. First off, it has nothing to do with what the "other user" sees their character, its the game itself. Sure, you could just be lagging/recieving something slow, but when it gets to the point where they are standing in one place for 10 seconds and you still don't hit them -- it's not from that. Although port blocking is indeed most likely not the problem, I guess it's worth a shot. Some users have problems connecting to the patching server for both nProtect and Rakion itself. Softynx gives instructions on how to fix this, with one of them being to unblock ports if their other ideas fail. You may want to look into this and give it a try, although I'm not sure if it will work nor if it would have anything to do with something as small as hitting or missing someone inside of the game when you have already connected (and see them running around). |

| Registered User | Re: If I have wireless internet for my PC, am I screwed? Ok, I'll try the port thing. I remember the old GzP Gunz section had some port instructions, too bad I didn't save those. And I looked all over the Rakion website and I didn't see any instructions for port blocking/unblocking. A link would be appreciated. And HuntersX, that could not be a possible reason, as others see me all at the same place, I've had whole teams chasing my one position, which was behind me, so that could not be a logical explenation. |

| Registered User | Re: If I have wireless internet for my PC, am I screwed? he didn't say he can't connect to auto download, he said his hits don't register.. and basically that's just cause softnyx is too cheap to pay for a decent server... |

| Registered User | Re: If I have wireless internet for my PC, am I screwed? Hunter - Shush, you have no idea what you're talking about. Basically, I had this problem too. Your firewalls may be off, but you still need to open port forwarding on your wireless router itself. I don't remembe the ports you need to forward, someone else can help you with that, and as for modifying your router's settings, see your manual (or find one online) as all routers are slightly different. |
