Speedy Connection

Hi. I used to play Rakion alot. Sometimes would hack just for fun in the Story Missions.

My connection was good then, and I could play without any lag or frame rate loss whatsoever.

I [recently] got a new NETGEAR router. It states that it can speed up my original internet speed 4x faster. So I get it, right?

Well, I tried playing Rakion on it, but every game I'd get in, there'd always be a person who had 999m as their connection speed. I though that my connection got slower, but I did a bandwidth/speed test, and my connection scored a 5.5 megabits per second, beating my usual 5.1.

There are rare chances where I do get into a game, but anytime I do, 2/3 of the people look frozen to me. I can hit them, they fall and never get up. Not to mention I can't get hit by them back. It ruins the whole game really.

By the way, the router is used by the whole family. Which includes 2 Desktop PCs, 1 wireless/laptop, and a phone modem for Vonage.

What can I do?

IMO, use and abuse this situation until someone posts a fix. Theres is a way to fix it in your router options, but I forget >_< Sorry.

Know any tutorials or people that could help me?

I'm not good with all the "Port Forwarding" I already tried with a RS private server before.

Thanks. I just tried that, I followed the guide for Rakion, but it's not showing up as a new service no the port-forward list once I do it.

i have have the same exact problem and have a NETGEAR router also
