I know this seems like a lie, but It happened to me to day.
This may only work if you have had to send your 360 back for repairs or anything, When they send you the 1 month gold live card. Call Xbox support and go to billing, Tell them this.

Well I have a question I would like to ask you.
I've had to send my xbox for repairs, And yes it has been returned.
But I got this free 1 month gold card, But I already have an account.
I was wondering if you guys could give me some microsoft points, some thing I could use.

Today, I was able to get 800 free microsoft points.
I have had the RROD twice. So It may just be 400 points for each time you have had to resend your 360.

Or It could depend on the mood of the person your speaking to, so try to read that person. Gear he or she into giving you what you really want, but don't sound demanding. If they don't give you any thing, oh well you wasted only like 15 mins max of your life. It's always worth the try, Who knows might get some thing. Also If you still have the 1 month gold live card they send you, Sell it here on the the forums in the market section or on ebay, Craigs list also works well to.

I'm glad I've been able to get very good response to this topic. Normally they end up being another annoying topic, that is just another disappointing five minutes wasted.
