Question Steel Bars

so... i was wondering for steel bars should i buy both the iron and coal or just buy the iron and mine the coal?..... and also.. do i still make a profit buying both the coal and iron O.o Please help :) Thanks

Well....back in my day:

Iron = 100g.
2 Coal = 400g.
Material = 500g.
Steel bar = 600g (Large bulk).

So yes you can make a profit, but it takes long to smelt.

If you still want to mine, buy the coal and mine the iron. Mining iron with 50+ mining is 100% accurate.

lol i was bored so i decided to buy both of them and smelt them into steel so fair i only bought 1.5k iron and .. 3k coal in all

id do that just to get the extra xp.

this is the best way getting xp smithing and making money time consuming though

Making cannonballs makes a good profit but it takes longer to make.

I always buy both I have made over 15mil profit in a month just smelting them and repeating the poster :D

iron ore - 120gp each

coal - 220gp each.

steel bars - 750gp each (lowest)

If you buy 1k iron ore, and 2k coal, (1k iron ore, 120,000 (120K), 2k coal 440,000 (440k) your total materiel cost is 560k. and then smelt 1k steel bars, your total income would be 750k, and your profit would be 190K. plus the xp smelting the steel bars.

if you have the money then buy both iron and coal for quick smithin xp and its faster :P
if you mine the coal you will save money and get mining xp but it will be more time consuming so really its a matter of personal choice lol

Definitely do this. It works out to be a profit of something like 158gp for each bar. I haven't played in a while, but I used to do this and make shitloads everyday. If you're a member, make the bars into cannonballs and you'll make even more. Good luck.
