Oceanic's Guide To Making A Successful Obby Mauler

Welcome to my guide on becoming a Successful Obby Mauler i will begin with some facts then get onto the guide itself. Please note that is guide is for a Obby Mauler and not a Tank Obby Mauler

Why choose an Obby Mauler?
Because a level 32 can use the Obby Maul which is a very powerful weapon, he can also hit 20s+. This type of pure is very rare but VERY Effective in PVP, i would recommend a Tank Obby Mauler if you are looking to stake.

Getting your Obby Mauler started - Chapter One.

1. Picking a name -Very Important-
Alright, So you just got ready to make your pure and now you need a nice name that will let people know that you will own them. Names like Dodger9283 Will NOT Work, Names like "K0eD 2 LuMby" Will work so try something like "S0ul Pk3r" or "1 H1T Lumby"

2. Tutorial Island -Very Important-
Alright, So you just picked your "Ub3R Aw3s0m3" name. Now it's time to get your Obby Mauler started, Leave all your skill at one until you get to the Combat Instructor. Once your at the Combat Instructor get your str to 3, If done correctly your Pure's stats should look like this.

Alright, Now don't get your range up at all, Just kill a rat with your bow asap then go up the ladder and do the rest until you get to the Mage Trainer, Once there do NOT get your Mage up at all, Just finish it and leave.

3 A. The mainland Training
So, You got your kick-ass name and your Noobish 3 str. It's time to train baby, Take your bad self over to the Chicken Pen (Don't forget to change your attack style to "Lunge") Once there start owning some Chickens until you get to 10 str, Yeah it is going to be a long time but its worth it. Go to Varrock then sell all the junk you won't need (Everything but your sword) Now go buy a Iron Scimitar at the G.E and then bank that Bad Girl. Now its time to do the strongholds... Do the stronghold of Safety.(Use both lamps on str) Now once you got that done, Go to Barb Village hop to world 1-3 and beg for food. Once you finally got at least half an inventory of food do the stronghold of Security and get your Colorful boots + 10k. Now its time to go back to Varrock and grab yourself a full set of iron. If done correctly your stats should look like this.



3 B. Advanced Training
Now its time to Decide whether your going to become a member now if your F2P, Or become P2P once you get 60str.
If you chose to become a member, Its easy to just buy a pin off somebody. I recommend you buy them from a trusted pin seller.

Equipment to bring:
Amulet Of Accuracy
Full Iron
Iron Scimitar
Gloves Of Safety

If you chose to remain F2P then i would suggest you start your advanced training on the monks at the monastery as the Elder can heal you so food isn't necessary .


If you chose to become a Member, The please make your way to the G.E, buy Some food, and a "Camelot Teleport Tab" then Snap it, And follow the map to your new foes. Those rocks that you see are not actually rocks, They will come out of there shell like a turtle and attack you, They barely hit so your chances of dying are like 1%


Whichever route for AT you chose, Train there until 60 Str then its time for some money making so you can afford Yours Truly.


Supplying and Building your Obby Mauler - Chapter Two.
Congrats, You have completed the first stage of making your Obby Mauler... Now your still looking a little noobish so its time for some income but first comes first, You need your Membership. So go buy a Pin or pick up your Phone / Credit Card.

Alright, Now that that's done you have a few options for moneymaking and they will take a bit of time.

1. Cutting Yews, Your going to have to get 60 woodcutting for this but in the long run its worth it. This method is very easy but will take some time... Probably the simplest as well, Cut yews - Bank, Repeat.

2. Bowstrings, This method is VERY effective. But your going to have to beg for money until you get to about 20k so you can buy a chisel and uncut opals, Just keep buying and cutting them until you get 10 Crafting and make sure you resell the "Cut Opals" then grab a "Camelot Teleport Tab" Again and snap it. Once there follow the map...

Now that you understand the basics, You gotta bank all your stuff. Now follow the trail, Get a full inventory of flax, Go into the building with the Brown Blip and go up the ladder, Spin the flax into Bow Strings then go down the ladder and bank it. -Repeat- once you got about 5k Bowstrings, Sell em for 890k at the G.E

3. Eye Of Newts, Simple, Quick, Effective. I hope you saved some of that money you got from the Stronghold(S) because you need about 5k for this method. Make your way to Draynor then once you got a full inventory of Eye Of Newt's make your way back to the bank, And repeat. They sell at the shop for 3gp ea, Then Sell at the Grand Exchange for 57 gp ea. Just follow the map route...


Okay, So you got your money now its time to buy your Obsidian Maul "Tzhaar-Ket-Om" So head to the grand exchange and set to max price. Once you got your Obby maul its probably time for some quests i will give you a list of quests and there rewards, I recommend Rune HQ or Tip.it for the walkthrough.

Other Skills and Merchanting - Chapter 3.
So you got this far, And that's good. You have some quests done, You made yourself some money so now its time to burn it.

Equipment your going to need (Choose gear on what you can afford):
Hands:
Regen bracelet, it give hp twice as fast, and is +7 str
Combat brace is a cheaper form with +6 str, no hp bonus

Amulet:
Strength Amulet +10 Str
Amulet Of Glory +7 Str
Amulet of Fury +8 str,
Berserker Necklace +8 Str but gives maul a huge bonus

Armor:
Full Iron
Iron Boots
Mith Gloves Im pretty sure you can get them with 1 Attack.
Obsidian Cape

Weapons:
Obsidian Maul
Rune Knives
Slayer Staff



Skills you shouldn't raise.
Summoning - Epic **** no, Just don't.
Defence - Your not a Tank Obby, Don't raise it.
Attack - Just don't, Get 34 Prayer and use Incredible Reflexes.

It comes down to Prayer, Slayer, And Range, I say we start of with Range.
So you got a Couple mill i am assuming, If you don't Take your ass over to R2Pleasent's (Will) Shop right now and buy yourself about 5M. Here's where i split my guide into sections.
