Why runescape players get hacked
There are so many people telling me they were hacked and they lost everything! I have never been hacked or even close to it! I want to bring a helpful guide to the runescape community.
The 1st reason people get hacked.
When I play runescape or talk on runescape forums I keep my account Information out of the topic and try not to give out any old passwords or recovery questions. People may think old passwords are harmless but when you go to recover an account they ask for the old passwords. So Dont give out ANY account information.
The 2nd reason runescape players get hacked are because they play runescape on a Library computer or at a friends house. There is software called key loggers and when downloaded to a computer it records everything typed into that computer and sent to the hackers email! Trust me I have this software on my computer! I have run test and I know this is fact. It isn't hard to download this software and use it. Thats why you stay off library computers and other friends computers. I am not saying your friends are out to get your runescape account but If you dont really know him, watch out.
The 3rd reason: everyone gets on forums and talks. I am not talking about any forum but Runescape forums! Have you ever found a cool looking runescape forum and before you could start using it you had to sign up on the website? Well there are forums out there made so when you make your account, they can get your runescape information. I am not saying they will get it but alot of player use their runescape login name and the same password as on runescape and this is a very good way to get hacked! You can still use forums just dont use the same login name or password as runescape. Trust me it can happen!
The 4th reason is: Those stupid websites that offer runescape gold and items for sale! Dont trust them! Some times they are lagit but most of them are not! When ever you go to buy RS Gold they ask for your runescape username and password for so they can put the money or item on the account but they are just trying to hack you! Be very careful and dont trust any websites beside Jagex with your account Information!
It helps knowing who you can and can not trust! But face the facts, people are not out to help you, they are out there to get what they want themselves!
So what are the 4 things to NOT do so you don't get hacked!
Keep all account Information to your self!
Only play runescape on a computer you know dont have any tipe of key loggers on them.
Dont use your runescape login ID or password on any forums or websites about runescape.
- Dont trust RS Gold websites with your account!
