Ok since i got your attention now,
And friend of mine was planning to make an Private Server for some game.
And he came with the idea for making an Private Silkroad Online server.
But as far as i know there are no Private Sro server's and if that really is true, there wont be any files to make an private server.
So in that case they will need to be made by some kinda team of peeps.
So if you think it might workout, leave an message.
*I preffer peeps with skill for making private server's*

1. In my opinion it's not worth the trouble/hassle
2. Silkroad is already free, why do you need a private server?
3. If you do go ahead and try to get a SRO private server, prepare to spend most of your time trying to maintain the server and be prepared to hear many whiny problems from other people if the server goes down for more than 5 minutes
4. Since you mentioned to try to build a community within a private server on a public forum, it won't be so "private" anymore ^_^

Yeah in some of thise points you are right, but if you wanna stand an chance in silkroad you have to donate.
First there is the super boring exp farming wich will boost greatly when you have an 100% exp helper.
Second if yo want nice weps you need loads of money how you get money by donating for it.

I was planning to make an private server to get the Donner equips at some npcs.
And slightly raise exp rates and if you also llok at howmany peeps stop with sro cuz they get bored of EXP farming....

I think if it is possible to make an Private server with an good host etc. etc. it will get players.
I dont mean like Huge ammount of players but i think it is possible to make an nice server.

You only need the right people for and an good host...
