Wolf Help Please!

I just got a wolf today, and I am wondering how do I open the "inventory" and "setting" tabs in the wolf? Also, are the HGP recovery potions really needed? He hasn't got lower than 99% HGP since I bought him 2 hours ago. Please help! :(

Hgp is for the hunger part and every level the hunger goes all the way back... since it's new i don't think you'll need any yet, Plus Wolves don't have inventories... They Don't have settings either... They're buddies that help with training... that's it
