| Lurker | YaSRObot CamingSoon ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() What is it all about? __________________This one is - primarily - due to the fact that I am sick and tired of the following:
Named it "Yet Another SRO Bot", because... well, let's face it, it's a rip off of the other 2 current ones (TBot and SROBot). Besides, there is really nothing fancy about it aside from a number of very useful features:
Requirements are not finalized yet, because we need to hear from the rest of you what features you want to appear in the first release. The 4 screenshots attached are just a preview of what we expect to include. At this time we are working on the networking layer. As of October 20th, code is capable of sending successful chat and movement packets. Needless to say, a lot more is to be done. What do you need to know? For the most part, this project is being developed by the two of us, and will in all likelihood stay that way. We do however, need help with the following:
Bot is being developed in Vista, and will be tested on XP. When is it going to be released? In short, NO CLUE. But to sound a little more mean: "When it's done". Sounds familiar? ![]() Is there anything downloadable right now? No. Anything else? The bot is being developed with C#/.NET. Although some of you maybe proficient with C#, we do not need help with this. As mentioned above, we do need help with Assembly. The bot features are yet to account for Euro chars. This depends on the feedback we receive here. Is it free? Well, let's face it: nothing in life is free. There will be a monetary charge of some sort as compensation for our hard work for those who are willing to pay and support the project. But since most people are not going to pay/can't, we'll think of something else that does NOT involve money. This may be in-game gold (I doubt), some sort of volunteering (for example, helping others with this/that), forum moderation/web design if we decide on a website eventually, premium support for those who pay, etc. We haven't figured that out yet. |

| Registered User | Re: YaSRObot CamingSoon Looks cool. but come one... hard work ? sure its not a walk in the park to create a bot, it takes some brains and time. But when you say "Its not free cause we want some sort of compensation for our hard work", you really only mean you want to get some extra money. Anyways i dont blame you for it, but heres a little tip for you. Release a free version first so ppl can try your bot, cause i dont think anyone will go buy your bot at once without knowing how good it is. Then after youve had the free version out a couple of weeks / months what ever, you can look at peoples opinion of what they think about your bot then youll see if its even worth trying to take a fee for using the bot, thats how youll get ppl using your bot and pay for it. Probably youve already thought about this but... just in case ^^ Good luck with the bot btw. Last edited by Murklan; 11-12-2007 at 05:33 PM.. |
