| Banned | Dragunov Guide Ok, so im gonna show you guys the advantages and disadvantages of the Dragunov, i will not be talking about its history, i do beleive that no one wants to know anything about it in real life and wanna get to its performace ingame, so i bring you the first guide to the Dragunov! Ps: I know my grammar is pretty bad, but i couldnt care less what you think of me. Throughout this guide, i will be using Growler Guncam shorts to show you the various cons/pros of the the Dragunov, compared to the PSG1. In these growlers, they are not meant to show skill, but rather, the capabilities of each weapon. Also, please bear with me- i know the quality of the growlers are bad, thanks to my pathetic Windows Vista Ultimate Media Centre. Content: 1) Damage Tables 2)Pros and Cons 3) Explanation of each Pro/Con 4) Misscelaneous Dragunov: Damage Head = 100HP Body = 100HP Arm= 68HP Leg= 59HP These are the damages that the Dragunov inflict on various parts of the body. Pros: 3 clips, 10 rounds per magazine. Extremely accurate Godly quick weapon switch time. Lower recoil than PSG1 Moe damaging than PSG1 Cons: As of right now, Dragunov can only be acquired from the Supply Crates found in the Item Shop. Will explain in detail later. Heavy Scope is different compared to PSG-1's standard crosshair, will show further down below. Long reload time. Slower ROF compared to PSG-1 Extremely loud. Explanation of each Pro/Con Pros: Extra Rounds The 10rounds per mag compared to PSG-1's 5round is a major advantage over any other sniper rifle, it allows you to shoot more before you reload. This counters the PSG-1's main weakness, lack of rounds per mag. However, this comes at a costly price- the Dragunov fires 0.38s SLOWER than the PSG-1, added to the fact that the reload takes forever ( you really wouldnt need to use the whole 10 rounds if you can aim properly anyway ). During this time, you are extremely prone from sprayer fire and which it would be a wise decision for one to retreat. Dont quote me on this, however, after using the Dragunov for a few hours, it appears to be more accurate than a fully repaired PSG-1. I got a friend to try hs him from the single crate at sub from the alley crate. It took me nearly 20shots to achieve a headshot. With the PSG-1, it took me 35 or 36. Draw Time The extremely quick weapon switch, another one of PSG-1's con turned pro, the extremely quick weapon switch time allows you to take your weapon out at an extremely high speed for a sniper rifle. Im not sure by how much it is faster than PSG1's, but it is still faster nonetheless. This also allows you to kill a sprayer who cant aim properly before he kills you. However, chances are still high of you dying so its best not to be dependant on this major advantage over other sprayers and snipers. Dragunov Draw Time PSG-1 Draw Time ![]() Lower Recoil calls for higher accuracy Lower recoil, one of the many reasons newbies have a hard time aiming with the PSG-1, the lower recoil allows you to shoot more accurately after you pull off each shot, resulting in an increase of accuracy. [ Will Insert Growler ] Higher Damage The higher damage is a minor advantage over PSG1 users, it does roughly 7 more damage than the PSG1. An example of this would be of PSG1 shooting an enemy's legs which will bring them down to 50. With the Dragunov, it will bring them down to 43. A theory that i had proposed has been proven wrong, the Dragunov does NOT kill in one hit to an armoured body, the extra damage only applies to any areas other than the head and the body. So you will still need to shoot twice in order to take out an armoured target. Dragunov Damage PSG-1 Damage ![]() Explanation of Cons Supply Crates Currently, the only way to acquire the Dragunov is through the use of Supply Crates, bought from the Item Shop for 7days and 30days, 8 and 12Gcoins respectively. Now you may be thinking " Then why dont we get a Dragunov for just 80c??" Thats because, getting the Dragunov is extremely rare. It personally took me 21 crates (an assortion of 7day and 30day crates). In other instances, others have been know to get it on their first try, while others taking more than 50. If you are one that is afraid to lose, i DO suggest you NOT buy them as it is annoying to see "OMFG, i bought XX number of crates and i didnt get a dragunov!" kind of threads. [ Will Insert Picture ] Weight The Dragunov, while has many other advantages does have one major problem, its elephant like weight. The Dragunov has 9/10 bars of weight while the PSG-1 has 8. Personally, i had absoloutely NO problem whatsoever with the weight as i never run long distances with a sniper rifle anyway, so this isnt a huge concern for me. Also, i see many common mistakes with newbies. They often tend to knife run, whereas you could do the alternative : to hold a NADE. I also see some newbies run with a knife even though they have a Beretta. This is extremely dangerous as the Beretta is knife like weight, so it wont drag you down much. [ Will Insert Picture ] Weird scope, much?? The Dragunov has a unique scope, quite different to the PSG-1 it is of a triangle where as PSG-1's is that of a normal crosshair. While i personally had no problems on my first game using the scope, i hav found that newbies have trouble using it. To aim with it, you simply have to position the triangle TIP UNDER, the target, u cannot have it neccessarily ON it if you understand what i mean. [ Will Insert Picture ] Long Reload Times The Dragunov's 10 rounds is a major advantage, there is another drawback. Its extremely long and boring reloading takes longer than the PSG-1, leaving you prone to enemy fire. While you wouldnt have to reload much sicne you can take out the whole team in an 8v8 if you can aim properly, there have been times where i have been caught off guard by unsuspecting rushers while reloading. Dragunov Reload PSG-1 Reload ![]() Big bang A minor disadvantage includes the extremely loud bang that the weapon creates after firing, just like the M249 which drowns out most other guns. I was at office in Shanghai, and i could literally hear a muffled Dragunov firing from the single crate. Usually, id have to get to the middle crates to be able to hear the PSG-1 but this is definetly a downside when used in scrims. (It is obvious i cannot show you this through pictures and FRAPS will lag me bad if i use my mic) Remember to use the Button instead of saying "Thanks". |
